I really didn't like the windshield jet pattern so $20 and 20 minutes fixed that. (1 Viewer)

I really didn't like the 3 jet spray as I prefer the mist. I think the mist does a better job in a shorter time, but I kept the old jets because they really don't take up much space and you never know when you'll change your mind, or when the chinese stuff I bought may break. Anyway...

Here's a quick vid of old vs new -

Here's the chinese stuff I bought from evil bay - 47137 Dorman Windshield Washer Nozzle Kit | eBay It's actually $17.55 shipped, but I pay tax on deliveries in IL. Also I didn't use the extra hose or male/male fitting.

Working slowly it took like 10 minutes. I did use the little tool they included to reposition the jet. And I used a small flathead to undo the old jets one side at a time. All and all easy peasy, even for a guy like me that makes everything look hard.

really like this. Thanks for hte link

Glad someone does! Just remembered though, I'm pretty sure I found it even cheaper on Amazon after it was too late for me. Yup....$12.37 Shipped - Hmmm...Link won't stick...maybe no amazon links allowed here? Anyway just google "47137 Dorman" and you'll find it.

I like it.

Now I wish there was a way to spray fluid without actuating the wipers. When bug gunk gets on there it would help to let the fluid sit for a while to let water/detergents do their work. As it is now, it gets wiped off right away so I have to keep spraying a while.

Thanks for the part numbers. the factory pattern is the worst

I'm guessing it for longevity...big ole holes won't get clogged.

Amazon product ASIN B000COCTXA
And ordered. I have one nozzle that's clogged, and I hate the triple stream.

Very neat. I'm not sure if those nozzles use the same technology to get the spray pattern, but check out the following:

I've always found the "Fluidic" nozzles like this fascinating. Clever engineering at its best. No-moving parts, cheap, reliable and very effective.

ordered. Thank you for posting this

I thought I'd investigate this possibility... Looking at the wiring diagram for my '98 you'd have to remove one small component from the circuit board inside the wiper switch assembly. Not too big of a deal if you're brave.

Here's what the board looks like once you remove the switch (pic from this YouTube video which also shows the switch removal process). I'm not sure which is the correct component to remove, you'd have to follow the 'WF' connection to locate it.

Here's the wiring diagram. The component circled is the one to remove if you want to prevent the wipers from running when you operate the washer.

Ordered these too, I hate the 3 spray pattern. Thanks for posting.

Just bought my first Land Cruiser ('99) and went to test the windshield sprayer and hated it. So, I'm glad you posted this! Adding this upgrade to my list.

Ordered & installed. But the wide spread pattern is hitting the nozzle & dripping on the hood. Is there a way to adj. the pattern width.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but those nozzles adjust a few different ways...up/down, left/right, and you can tilt the the nozzle to be not parallel to the hood. As far as adjusting the width...I have my serious doubts. Is the sprayer centered? If not you could center it better and then adjust the whole assembly in the direction you want.
