You can come over and we can at least get some entertainment out of it.....just saying. :hillbilly:

I used the method on Slee's site........put a box end on the nut and rotate to wedge against something, then use a pipe wrench on the upper shock body, since I wasn't reusing, it worked like a charm.

I've always had good luck with an impact on that one... zips right off

I always use an impact too and when they work, it is great. When they don't, they just spin the top of the shock really fast. It doesn't matter what kind of wrench you use, but sometimes you need a way to keep the shaft from spinning.

impact works if you got that shorty universal, otherwise that's a tight spot

Impact gun & done.

If not available, a pipe wrench with the jaw behind the shock body makes it bite when unscrewing nut.

Or drive to Joey's with a quality 6-er.

You guys are all seriously overthinking a really simple problem. I have the same two little strips of aluminum I've used I can't tell you how many times.

Stick in your shaft of choice

So 3 pages now. Wonder if any of these methods worked?

For the next guy coming down the road with no impact wrench or extra set of hands...pipe wrench Yo! Wedge it between the tire and spring.

Damn, you drilled it too!

Yeah...I drilled it and jammed a screwdriver in it. That worked for the bottom nut, but not the top...summa bitch was on there! Pipe wrench would have worked for both. Might be time to invest in an impact gun like others suggested.
