Hey guys I had an idea. We go on a lot of wheelin trips and we usually just pick up and go. Well with this weekend comin up it's gonna be a pretty big trip. I know we all like to have a fun and have a blast and nothin can put a damper on that then someone gettin hurt. So I think we need to get a GOOD First - Aid kit. One that has every thing in it. Cause with us being far from civilization we need to be ready for anything, and I think we should use club funds to buy them. Yes I think we should get 2 of them. One to keep in Clemson and the other one in Table Rock. Those are our 2 main locations. That way if the clemson mafia decides to go wheelin we can take it with us and if the guys up at table rock go then they have one also. Also I think we should fill out Trip Plans. Basically some kind of electronic form that we fill out, where we're goin, what time we're goin, and what time we're comin back. And then we email it to someone who isn't able to make it that weekend or someone's wife. That way if somethin happens we have a record of where to look. Guess it's my Boy Scout background that is kickin in that we should be prepared. I've been on search and rescue's before and they are no fun, worked out at Philmont which is bigger than the state of Rhode Island and S&R's were no fun with a lost camper. So hope this makes sense and hope you all agree. Just lookin out for everybody.

Due to the fact that I am in Pennsylvania this week can someone find a good place to get a good first aid kit and get it for this weekend. Thanks a bunch guys.

not a bad idea, but with that said you sound like my grandfather................:flipoff2:
2nd on the grandfather thing.

But good idea. THe only thing I've got is a fire extiguisher and I don't think anyone is going to be setting themselves on fire this weekend.

Chuck I see where you are coming from. I have a good bit of first aid knowledge. I mean hell, the Marine Corps the teaches you two things.

1. How to kill people
2. How to bandage them up ( thats if you don't kill em)

in my case I learned a little more than that. I have my cpr and first aid certificates, but I'm no frickin EMT or Dr, so I guess the first thing would be what? To make a list of things needed or wanted in this first aid kit?

I have a small but adaquate first aid kit I usually keep in the back of the wagon. I'll be happy to lug it around to make everyone feel safe.

Hell I forgot I have a standard issue G.I. first aid kit from WWII.................. I will bring it along, chuck you should be familiar with these, since you are old as dirt ;) ..............

Chuck and thinking theres two words that dont get put together a lot. We better take notice. Actually sounds like a good idea although substantial blood loss sounds exciting too.

Well I am glad that everyone's sens of humor is in good working order. Yeah I figured I'd get picked on soundin like a dad or somethin. But guess I'd rather be called that then see someone get hurt and we're not prepared to take care of the situation. That Outdoor Adventure there next to explorer's might have some kind of kit. If not then we can make one....of course the little things different size band-aids, anti-biotic cream, then like, triangle bandages for splints and large cuts, maybe an Epi-pen for allergic reactions, some sterile water. Snake bite kits are useless.

Found a site with a few kits on it looks pretty good to me and it's a damn good pricehttp://www.outdoorsafety.net/humanusekits.htm The Superior First Aid Kit looks to be the best.
Has everything I was lookin for in a kit. I'm not sure if we need to bring it to a vote to buy it with club funds or what the procedure is. But we can discuss it more this weekend. I'd like to atleast have something, I know you can pick one up from walmart for like 10 bucks. That way we're not sittin there caught with our pants down. Let me know if someone can pick one up. Thanks guys. Sorry to sound like your Daddy but just rather be prepared and see everyone have a damn good time.
