Front bumper.webp

Now at first I thought it was all cosmetic ... but when I drove home... the right feels like it is dragging a little bit. Or at least the left side feels like it is spining more freely than the right.... does it look like it got hit hard enough to bump something out of alignment?

Is that uneven tire wear on the right front or just the angle of the pic. Either way which aftermarket bumper do you prefer. Thanks FedEx!

Looks like he almost missed ya.

Got lucky, imagine the hassle if it was doors and fenders? Ugh. Get the check and place an order with Slee. Christmas in September

So after seeing this thread I always wondered... When someone hits my rear bumper how do I get them to pay for my ARB? Meaning... It's an upgraded bumper why would insurance pay more for me to outfit my truck?

can anyone explain that process?

They cut you a check for what it would cost to repair the damage in accordance with the estimate. You then apply that cash to the accessories of your choice, the repair, hookers and blow or what ever else suits your fancy.

You have never been hit before I take it.

Yes, but it was a hit and run and I was able to fix the damage myself w/o involving the insurance company :) however I'm riding my brakes like a mother fxxxer in traffic hoping for some texting teenybopper to rear-end me ;)

Working on getting the painting estimate. I dont think it will be enough to get a big heavy after market bumper ( I wasn't in the truck when it happened) but I think I do for see a front hitch reciever and some other metal getting installed in the front. The rear almost always has a hitch basket installed to protect the rear

To answer your question, no. That scraping impact shouldn't affect alignment at all. It's possible it already had an issue that you just now noticing due to the circumstances. Mostly insurance companies wouldn't pay for an alignment based on that impact, but you never know; might be worth asking for.

Slee Blueberry would be in my future if such a swipe happened to my 100.

My wife's RX400 has been hit in the rear multiple times and the insurance companies absolutely refused to pay. The standard excuse here in Ohio is that somebody hit the person who hit my wife and forced them to crash into the back of my wife's car. And no evidence on their car to back it up but, hey, it looks good in the accident report and so the cops never seem to challenge it. Result here in Ohio - you pay it yourself.
