Meeting with the owners of the truck this week to discuss the roofing job. It sounds like we have a deal on the truck. Stay tuned!

My inbox is always full because you can only have a few messages. If anybody is interested just reply in the thread and then I'll contact you once I have this deal wrapped up.

Let me know i can arrange pickup/trailer and cash. Only about 4 hours away. I would like to be high on the list.

Well, it looks like we have a deal. I'm not sure when we'll do roof and I can pick up the truck, but it'll probably be some time in April. I'll take more pictures as soon as I get it.

Unmolested??? Cancer has done a fair share..

Am I correct that this is a much later engine and tranny? I see three on the tree and what appears to be a floor shifter. Also, the 68 and older should have a 1f engine with cartridge oil filter and oil filler on the side of the block, not on valve cover. Coilover shocks, weber carb, air filter is gone, headers for exhaust.....

Not saying it is in terrible condition, just that there is lots of rust on that frame and vertually every piece of the rig. What about the bottom of the bed? How does that look?

I agree with 2fpower,
But I will take it rust and all. Is it still available?

Its like a house remodel. You tear everything down except the wall and chimney and when the inspector leaves you tear out the chimney and wall.

there is a lot of rust. the frame appears pretty sound though. the only part that looked really bad was the cross member at the rear of the frame. the bed has some rusty spots - a couple spots that have rusted through just barely.

i don't know much of anything about these trucks so i don't know what's original or not. it did have headers though (or at least they looked like headers to me.)

i won't have this truck until some time in april. i'll be taking possession of it once we finish these peoples' roofing project.

i've got $2,000 deducted off the roofing work for it. So i hope it's worth at least $2,500 or i'm just wasting my time on it i guess.

once i have the truck i can take better pictures of whatever you guys want to see. i'd rather not do the whole ebay thing but i would like to get something out of this that makes it worth my time.

also, i think it would be cool to see one of you guys restore this thing and i could give pictures to the guy who owned the truck. it used to belong to a buddy of his that passed away and he never got around to restoring it. so it kind of has some sentimental value to him.

so that's where it stands. i guess tornado alley does have dibs on it, but i want to get some more pics up later and see what you guys think.

Hey Ryan, I know you and I PM way back when you first signed up, but I am not sure about the value of the rig...sounds to me like a lot, but then again, it might be because I am a cheap bastid.

Wrong engine, and lots of rust = lots of work.

I may be wrong, and I am sure someone will and correct me, which is all good :D

Well I hope it's worth at least what I'm paying for it! Ha ha. I really don't know. It's so hard to find any information on what these usually sell for in this condition.

45's are cool rigs, so I'm sure you'll do OK :)

That said, who knows...you might fall in love and decide to keep it for your self, and once restored a little (at least get a decent paint job), you can use it as a work truck for your roofing jobs...think of the attention you would get with a sign on the side of a cleaned up version of that truck, driving around town from one job to another...then you could probably write the whole thing off if you have a decent accountant

Can you post up pics of the bed and floorboards

I can't see you having a problem selling it, its so hard to come across a 45 that you kind of know what your getting into when you buy one. Unless you get a rust free one and want to spend a lot of money, I think thats a good price and it looks like a great project for someone to get into. I've been into 40's since I was 8 years old and just recently was able to get my hands on my first 45. She's no beauty, but it took me over 10 years to get my hands on it, so it kind of explains how hard it is to even be able to find one and be able to get the guy to sell it to you . Good luck to who ever gets it

i've got the signed proposal for the roof job. we should be starting in the next week or two. should have the truck by the end of april. i'll get some better pics then.

i've already got some offers coming in, so pm me if you have an offer.

hahaha! are you sure? it's a steep, two story, three layer tear off!

actually, you'd still come out ahead. hahaha.
