from 1971 :P

Got a line on a really original (24k original miles) Euro spec Fiat 124 Spider. My wife has wanted an MG type car for some time and this was too good to pass up. I also replaced her 6 series with a 5 series so I owed her a little makeup gift :P

It is rust free and sitting out in Arizona waiting on me. I leave Weds. for a road trip because shipping it is CRAZY expensive due to the convertible/wanting an enclosed hauler.

The list of maintenance items and the absolute zero rust, second owner, bought in Germany, imported with clean title is just too much to pass up. The price was very very right as well.

I test drove one on Saturday to make sure I fit.

I do.

Yep. Tweener at 1608cc and single carb. Will be looking to go double at some point.

Line-x, 37s, airtanks and a roll bar and you'll be all set! Nice find!

Very nice Dan! Time for a mt drive!

That's great! I just LOVED the one I had back in the old days.
Easiest up and down manual top EVER made.
Ours had an air conditioner. It was a 1975.
Weber DCOEs are a cool addition.
I almost bought one.....well I did buy one...a bit back but on inspection it
was a pig with lipstick. Got my money back.
VERY nice car ya got there. Wish I'd found it before the MGB.
Check the date/mileage on the drive belt for the cams. If you ever replace
it do the roller tensioner at that time. They do go bad......don't ask how I know.
I just LOVE those cars.
Kudos!
My favorite neat feature is the ideogram potentiometer. You could turn all interior lights off but the tach.
Real cool for night flogging.

pic is my friend's 1380cc Sprite motor with a 45DCOE two barrel.

PO replaced it all, I am hopeful!!!

Can't wait to saddle up for 1900 miles of fun in a day!

To keep up with the Porsche we may take the 535xi :P

It's all about The Corner and power to weight.
I LOVE my new anti-sway bar and rear panhard rod keeping her flat
and those nasty Dunlop Z1s threatening to not let loose till it's too late.
I have a custom build intake and carb set up due to be ready Weds.
Oh yeah....I want a mountain cruise .
It'd be a nice run before track day at CMP in November.
Fall is dynamite. Just have to find some twisters without leafers
crawling about.
Put down the windows...throw back the top.....crank up the tunes.
Let the good times roll!

You can take lead... I just like the top down twisties at whatever speed... though faster does have it's benefits :grinpimp:

The 535xi AWD with a twin turbo inline 6 is pretty nice in the mountains. Still working on better wheels/tires for the kind of driving I do.

Was a great drive. The car handles like new. Amazing.

Still have a few gremlins to sort out. Temp/fan switching, looks like a leak in the engine, etc.

Just added a nice steering wheel. Will post up some pics soon.

Yeah. I don't really have a need to DD or otherwise. Just something fun when the weather is nice.

Uh Dan...

Eurofest is this Saturday at BMW .
Weather is looking fine. Drop the top and come on up.
The Bugeye is entered this year.
The purists will probably puke.
There ain't a stock mechanical part left.
Spridget...a term for Sprites and Midgets... are the feature marque
this year.
:hillbilly:
Stop by and say howdy if ya'll can come. Trust me I will not be leaving
the Sprite unattended.

David, there is a car that looks very similar to yours I see driving around my part of town all the time. It's the same color as yours and has a roll bar. The only thing that looks different is the headlights. Do you know who it is?

Sam Maw out of Spartanburg has a nice blue Midget but it is NOT a Bugeye.
Doubt it is Sam but he drives it all around a lot.
