Dave, there might be a reason why there is no info on supercharging a 1hz...

Follow the crowd, turbo it.

With turbo youdo t have tomove anything like ac and don't have to add extra pulleys etc and east boost adjustment

By and large us Americans are very proud of our gas hogs. The more horsepower the better. That ozone layer thing is overrated and there is enough oil floating in the Gulf of Mexico to power thousands of V8's. I myself am somewhat of a novelty for driving a couple of diesel Cruisers down here. ...........1978HJ45

Never would have thought people would go the opposite. But yet again whatever floats your boat. Clint i am jealous of your ute. If I had the choice I would get a really nice cruiser pick up and drive that for awhile.

I was going to supercharged my ute that's one of the main reasons I wanted a 4.5 ute for the power and I wanna pump psi into it , but it will be cheaper to for me to turbo it , I've ordered my turbo manifold to suit 1fz from US cheaper than buying from aus and a few places in aus that sell turbo kits won't seperate the manifold .and now am collecting bits like plumbing and will get oil lines made also , then I shall have some good power
same with diesels the turbos are much more simple than the superhsrger setup

cool. Would love to see that setup. If your going for hp go gas:)
I love my diesel cruisers though....

the new sprintex supercharger kit for the 4.5 is awesome and only about 4k all up

Saw one fitted last night to an 80

Yea diesels are good for work vehicles and driving slow all my old mans work utes have been diesel cruisers but his weekend or after work cruisers have been petrol 60s to 80s and has the v8 100
as I always say different horses for different courses
and it's fun smoking turbo diesel Nissan patrols that think your a slow diesel ute

how did that go I was nearly going to get that kit they guys at sprintex were really happy and friendly to help and happy to help make the supercharger kit suit the 79 series as it's for the 80 and 105 series , but back to the tittle first question in this thread turbos more simple and easy boost adjust and it will work out a bit cheaper to turbo , my apprentice wage slows things down abut haha

ok so the every one seems to think turbo

I am not opposed to turbo's (I work on heavy diesel for a living) so lots of turbo's

and it is simpler to just turbo my cruiser..... might do just that yet

thanks for the input guy's

. Dave
