If you go through their website engine, Hypertech indicates #730135 speedometer calibrator will work for a 2018 GX460... but I can't find any evidence online of any GX460 using it, which surprises me. In fact, there are a couple of suggestions that it won't work. Can anyone report definitively if it works or not?

Is it possible this is the holy grail I've been looking for???
I agree. Can't find any reviews or any other instances of it being used on any GX's even though it says that it'll work on my 2013 GX640.
Here's the link: Speedometer Calibrator - https://hypertech.com/pages/speedometer-calibrator/
One good thing is that they're located in: Hypertech, Inc 7375 Adrianne PL, Bartlett, TN 38133-8958
with a phone number! So it's not coming from China. You may be able to give them a call and see what it's all about.
After I recover from my alternator and radiator replacements, I may give them a call and see what it's all about.
They state on one page, "Emissions Certifications: Not for sale or use in California" but then the product info page doesn't mention it. And why would a speedo calibration affect emissions??
Hummm.
Inquiring minds need to know.

I asked them back in 2019 and then again in 2021.... claimed in development... yeah... looks like they finally released something

Is that just a throttle adjuster, or does it do speedo too? I found this one: https://www.autoanything.com/perfor...R9g7XsMKA_-JDFtdXVlLxTPg2DA4qMBMaAqvsEALw_wcB

FWIW, Carid says it works for a GX. The Amazon listing I saw said it did not. Clear as mud.

Nice find, I just placed an order for one. Lets see if they will sell me one in CA.
Please keep us posted when you get it, installation and function!

I went ahead and ordered one also. Carid is a little cheaper than most others I found.

My understanding is you hook it up to your computer to update the software and configure the settings for speedo correction before install.

Looks like it installs inline with gauge cluster

Yeah it looks a little more involved than I was expecting... but I've had the dash apart before for MTS install, I guess I can do it again.

This guy does pretty good how-to's videos for the GX. I've been pretty impressed with his technique and thoroughness in capturing all the little details in a plain and simple way.

Now the question is, does it only fix the speed in the instrument cluster or does it actually correct it for the ECM/BCM/TCM.
On the website they cleverly stated the obvious that non-stock tires will through off the Transmission shifting but they technically only state it corrects the speedometer. "Part-throttle shifting" can mean that is changes the throttle response and not necessarily correct the speed signal in the computer.

To me if that's the case its not worth it, now if it also fixes the transmission shifting then I would be interested

Apologies of this has been mentioned and I missed it, would this correct the odometer too?
I would imagine it should.
Funny thing about running larger tires with an uncalibrated speedo, I'm actually logging less miles than I'm traveling. So the 60k+ miles I've logged on my odometer since having my rig, is less than what I've actually traveled.

This^. Gotta do your own correction. All your maintenance intervals will be off as well. I'm on 32" and it results in 6% correction, so 10k oil change is now 9.5k. It adds up slowly. Hoping this works, been searching for this for a while.
