Hi All, long time lurker, first time posting.

I have a 2001 Lx470, roughly 230k miles. Love this truck and taking on longer trips with family/friends. Recently had I sitting for about 2weeks, avoiding the salt and snow on roads in NE.

Had some snow drift built up that I decided to drive-thru. Lifted the truck to H (no problems) then back to N.. Didn’t noticed for 5-10mins, Truck now sitting at L with Height Control blinking OFF.

Left rear passages side was spitting fluid out and truck is now sitting a lot lower. Anyone else run into this issue? Not sure if it was a rusting line that busted or something more complex.

Any advice or knowledge would be appreciated!

I am 99% positive the leak is coming from your rear AHC globe assembly. Could be the hard line, fitting, bleeder or globe or all four.

You still have the chance to save your AHC system by not running the vehicle and running the AHC system dry from that leak. I would strongly suggest to address the leak asap. Clean the area dry using brake cleaner/degreaser, turn the engine on and see/take a photo of where the leak is coming from.

What does the fluid level look like in your reservoir under the hood (passenger side)?

It's most definitely leaking from somewhere in the system, but you don't need us to tell you that. You'll need to clean it off and see if you can identify where it's leaking. Hopefully just one of the bleed nipples wasn't torques properly.

decision time
need to know if it is a globe, or shock, or a line
being you are in CT, my WAG is your AHC lines are rusty, most others will get rid of the AHC and go with a either stock Landcruiser bars and spring or a small lift from and aftermarket supplier

you need to know exactly where the leak is coming from whether line or globe

Thanks for your reply! The globe seemed to be dry, although it’s components are rusty(see pic).

After cleaning the area, the hoses fitting above and on other side of the globe assembly seemed saturated. I’m assuming this is the area but I’ll confirm this weekend once I start it up

Seems some fluids remain (see pic). I’ll try not to run it longer then needed to the leak

Thanks for the reply. I’ll source it this weekend, I’m hopeful it’s a line. The strut on that side seems dry at the top and globe didn’t have any noticeable leaks.

Appreciate the help guys.

The truck did raise up to H when I hit the switch and lowered properly. It seems the system worked.. just was spraying out fluid when I came to a park.

Im hopeful to keep the AHC system in place and not do a swap.

I have the exactly the same problem on the rear passenger side hose. How did you fix this issue?

The passenger rear line is the one that always leak/burst first for some reason. Also that's the only line that you can replace without too much hassle, just gotta snake it out. I've done several of this, but wasn't successful trying to remove the driver's side, i dont see how that can come out without lifting the body off the frame.

Can you please give me a quick rundown of how you replaced the hose?
