I'm thinking of taking Biscuit out of storage, I don't know if the 60 will be tall enough to make it through all the flooding...:steer:

I hope the weather channel and forecasts are wrong, and are blowin it way out of proportion. but id rather them overestimate it than underestimate it. Homestead and Cutler Ridge were a mess after andrew, and our coastline was beyond a mess after Matthew a couple years ago. the forecasted rain is much greater than matthew, over a longer period, with more rain inland and upstream of the coast. It's going to get very, very, very sucky for those within 80 miles of the coast, and get suckier for a week, maybe two or more, as all the water westward inches its way down to the ocean. Old timers/locals on the coast are making comparisons to Hazel, and much worse than Floyd.

That's crazy to me - the supply of gas is generally only effected if it's the gulf that gets hit. Gas gets from there to here in a pipe.... not likely that the pipe will be effected, and the gas trucks will deliver if it's windy and rainy...

I guess I don't get why everyone is treating this like a blizzard/ice storm....?

One perspective...If power is out, can't pump out of the ground even if the tanks are full, so I've always tried to keep a full tank just in case I need to go somewhere/emergency etc. During Isabel 2003, I got stranded in Virginia Beach after the storm because despite having gas in the tanks only about 5 stations city wide could pump it out. I was helping my family after their house was effectively destroyed during that storm and I ended up staying an extra week until power was restored and I didn't have to wait 18 hours in a gas station line. A bunch of the stations there have since added generators to run the pumps, but with the internet based credit card systems one of gas station owner's near my parent's house said he would have to resort to cash only b/c they don't even let him run an imprint of a credit card anymore...

James, have you experienced a major hurricane? Not asking to be an a-hole, I'm being serious... Major hurricanes are a major f-up to society. Many people have run out of gas in traffic on the highways trying to evacuate, which further backs up traffic. People load up on gas in their vehicles in case they need to get out. others load up on gasoline for generators. today alone, i got 18 gallons in gas cans for my generators, filled up my white 80 series, and will be topping off the gx470. I've got around 3/4 tank in the 4runner as well, and can siphon off if needed.

After Charley hit Fl, both of my sisters were without power for nearly 3 weeks. Most of the city of orlando was without power for most of that time. no gas could be pumped, and what areas did have power also had enormous lines of people waiting for gas and supplies. They were refilling the tanks almost as quickly as they could be drained at the gas stations.

I heard there was gonna be a huge swell before it comes on our shores

But all joking aside this could be a very long and hard week for you guys I hope you all come out of with happy endings.

All of which would be agreed with if we were on the coast.

We’re 3 hours from the water.
The wind and rain will suck. All 30-50mph of it.
And yes, I went through Hurricane Gloria a cat 4. 145mph it was rough being right there in the direct hit area on the coast.

If I’m wrong and we get 120mph winds and 15”+ of rain I’ll be an a-hole :)

You don't need to wait to be wrong. You can always be an ass hole here.

That is why God invented good homeowner's insurance. Take photos of everything if you are worried. Being in good health to make the insurance claim is the main goal.

Will my Homeowners pay for a vehicle that is disassembled? I hadn't thought about that. I'm calling my agent in the morning. Thanks
