We'd half fill the boats with water if they were on trailers, for high winds. During Wilma the surge floated my neighbors flats boat up under the house and crushed the poling platform on the first floor joists. First floor is 12' off the ground

Thats what we always did, fill the boat with water, throw the patio furniture in the pool, caravan the cars to the airport parking deck and then return with the one sacrificial car. Park it away from the house or the shingles/tiles will rain on it and fawk it up.
