So ive pretty much decided a new engine is under the necessary column on the preparations list, apparently 300,000km is a bit demanding of the 2F...and so i'll be looking at one tomorrow- hopefully finding one with either standard or 25 pistons/cylinders...as mine has already been bored out to 75 and is wicked hot and silly slow...

my question is how to best tell how many times a head has been milled, as i know what to look for in the block...i dont know if ill have access to properly accurate measuring tools - so if you have any first hand/tick advice - it would be greatly appreciated...

See if there is a machinist's stamp on the head. Sometimes they'll stamp how much has been removed....or have the combustion chambers volumes measured....Hopefully someone else has more ideas.
