After reading through way too many threads about this subject, I'm looking for the definitive answer to this question:

How do you bolt a factory 1995 Toyota FZJ80 hubcentric Alloy wheel to a new Dextor non brake hub 6 x 5.5" hub?

The wheels require a shank style lug nut but the Dextor axle comes with a larger lug diameter and different thread pitch. The axle came with a set of acorn type lug nuts that you can use to bolt the wheels up after some major fiddling with bit still doesn't seem the "right" way to go. Who, what, where do I buy a shank lug nut to fit the Dextor lug from and still be able to get it centered properly? BTW, I don't want to go the spidertrax route either. I can't be the only one that has this problem....:bang:

I used Spidertrax on my Dexter axle to go from lug centrist to hub centric....but that was a brake axle.....just a shot in the dark..

Spidertrax 1.25" spacer. Use the acorns provided with axle to mount spacer, then use shank style lugs to mount rim to spacer. You can see the blue of the spidertrax spacer for hub centric rims.

The problem with the spacers is it will make the wheels stick out farther than what I really want. I'm already 1" wider that the LC on each side....still looking for that perfect shanked lug nut.

Can you knock out the stock Dexter studs and replace them with a longer metric stud. I think that would be the easiest solution, no spacer needed and use the stock hubcentric lugnuts. Might have to tack weld the stud on the back of the flange though.

I had the same issue when I swapped out my M101 A1 axle for a regular axle so I could run 80 wheels. I ran down to NAPA and matched up the lug nuts. HTH!

may not be so critical to be hub centric for light trailer loads?
