Hi guys, I am buying my OME 2.5 heavy lift in a day or so but how do i get this thing to sit level. I've seen numerous pics and want to get what i need first so I don't have that stink bug look. I have seen posts mention a spacer up front, J coils and even the MAF castor correction plates. Given that the standard KIT comes with the Castor bushing kit, what are my best options? kinda leaning toward new standard rubber bushings and the MAF plates but unsure. but that only addresses the castor, not the stink bug look... It's so hard when your ready to pull the trigger. thanks in advance.

Linear coils is just so 20th century...

Does your truck currently have any armor on it? Bumpers, sliders? How much weight do you carry on a regular basis? 7 passengers and 2 mastiffs?

The level lift height is dependent on a number of different things. If set on using OME springs the easiest option would be to install a front 30mm coil spacer. You are correct, at 3.5" of lift in the front you will need to use caster plates. Also I would recommend at a minimum installing sway bar drop brackets for the front.

No armor yet but that will be in the works in a couple of months. normally carry 5 passengers, one Lab and a chihuahua. lol

Seems like OME is the all around standard so figured i cant go wrong there. i dont plan on doing crazy wheeling although i know that can change at any time, more overlanding with the family. noted on the sway bar drop brackets. thanks

What's the on-road manners like with the Heavy front/Medium rear choose-your-own-adventure setup? Firm-ish but not punishing?

They're both the same spring rates, just taller for the heavies. Here's a pic of my last 80 with heavy fronts, medium rears, 255/85/16 km2 and 1 1/4 inch wheel spacers.

Thank you. :)

That looks to be the route we'll go then, but probably 285s.

After speaking with Bryce at Cruiser Outfitters it seems like their "Heavy Load Level Stance 3.5 & 2.5 is the route im heading. the kit does include caster correction plates. He did offer to swap the plates for offset alignment bushing(urethane) so i wouldnt have to grind and weld anything.

So my new question is: What is Preferred, offset alignment bushings(urethane) or the Slee caster correction plates?

Thank you for all of the help so far

Plates... The OME yellow bushings only correct approx. 1.5" of lift.
@landtank through Witts End offers plates for 2.5" & 3.5" of lift.
850/860 is a good level lift for lightly loaded 80s... but its still just a 20th centery lift.
Get into the 21st century by going dual rate. TourFlex, ToughDog, Slinky & Dobinson offer dual rate coils.
