I want to learn how to do donuts/drift on my 100. Is it possible with the AWD and all the safety features? Any instructions and tips? Want to try on a snow/ice covered pavement parking lot first.

^^

OP- Not sure if trolling, or serious. Serious response is, these trucks do not do that except in the snow if you try really hard.

From my experience in snowy parking lots you can definitely induce over steer without any drama, but as soon as you get into an over steer situation and are playing around with your counter steer the electronic nannies intervene and the good times come to an end pretty quickly. Not sure of a way to defeat VSC. I don't think I was ever able to make it around 100% to call it a real donut. My only practice has been with a brand new set of BFG KO2s so that definitely was working against me as well.

Can be done in an '80...but you'll have more fun in a Miata.

I guess technically you could do it if you remove the front DS so it's RWD. But why? I am unsure if that would cause any problems.

I'm not saying it's good for the truck... but I've been doing monster-truck-style donuts in my '98 with the rear diff locked. The key is a rear locker, without going for a part time kit. Sure puts a giant grin on my face... I'm not sure I'd try it again once I have a lift though.

I thought this was about eating donuts in a 100,yeah buy a Honda or Toyota.

By putting a For Sale sign in it and buying a supra..

As a turbo'd Supra owner I'll take that as both a compliment and insult, haha.

I'm sure with a turbo kit, some small diameter, worn out tires and a careless attitude you could spin em up, but it'd be an exercise in stupidity...

Don't flop it

If snowy, lock center and put transmission in L worked for me

Center diff lock turns off the VSC. I've managed to get the rear out a bit in the snow, but haven't pushed it very hard. Full time 4wd is weird for sliding.

I agree with previous post, full time 4wd is weird for sliding. If you're really trying, you can definitely powerslide the 1998 (no vsc) on snow and ice, or even gravel. But once the back end swings around (oversteer) you have to slow down to get it back, like in the fj80 video. more throttle just makes more oversteer.

Lock CDL, pull front driveshaft, pull front drive flanges, find a safe spot and don't flop it.

Pull front driveshaft, lock center, pull ABS relay, go to town. Don't forget to disconnect sway bars, install RTT, 235/85/16, and lift truck 2". Patchy snow/pavement preferred...
