There were only about 113,000 FJ55's made between 1968 and 1980. Each year had different production numbers. As I have stated before I used to have a japanese link that had all the production numbers, what kind of FJ55's were made, and how many came to North America. I think that maybe 20-30% came to the USA CAN and maybe MEX. So lets say in 1977 there were some 7700 made. About 1600 of those where divided between the USA CAN and MEX. The link has since vanished. On top of low production numbers and being more then two decades, wrecks, parting out, cutting up for buggies, crushin at junk yards, rotting in fields, etc... those numbers are a hell of a lot lower these days. There are pockets within the US were 55's are more plentiful. Some States have no 55's at all. From my own experience California, Oregon, Washington, Colorado have many 55's. Anyway its just my own two cents worth. I am sure some will have their own opinions... which is cool.
