How much does a factory LX450 wheel weigh?

No that guy is an idiot. He paid $1300 a piece for wheels that weigh almost the same as stock.

Look on the bright side- they're probably not as strong as stock.

Oh I lied, they are actually heavier. :flipoff2:

But seriously, using a much larger wheel like that is about the only way to lower the wheel/tire combo weight. It's dumb for other reasons, but could actually accomplish some small weight savings. Has anyone compared oversized wheel-size tire weights to standard sizes?

I doubt you'll save enough weight to make a noticeable difference, but maybe more than looking for a lighter wheel in the same/similar diameter.

It is really a wash.

Stock OEM 16" - 21-22lbs
315/75 16 Duratrac - 65lbs

Lightest 20" forged wheels I could find 25.2lbs
35x12.50 20 Duratrac 63lbs

Quote.....I am running 295’s At2 xtremes now and was going to switch to 255 toyo Mt’s bc they are 3 pounds lighter, slightly taller (.1 inch haha), skinner (less rolling resistance), and more aggressive.

Seems that last two lines would negate any benefits..... more aggressive will certainly counter the less rolling resistance of the lesser width. If anything id bet the MTshave higher rolling resistance despite narrow contact patch. My opinion is it will make little to no difference and if you were really set on the goal then all pieces of the puzzle would need to be biased in same direction to possibly achieve cumulative results of multiple small changes.

Also toyo MT are about the heaviest tire out there FWIW

Thanks for all the great replies guys. I guess I have some thinking to do.

Just get a good set of AT tires in 35s that are good for the street like cooper discover or procomp ats and be good. Very little difference will be noticed if at all and cheaper because it’s a standard size.

As I stated in my original post I keep getting stuck with AT’s... I would consider the toyo RT’s if I went with 35’s bc the MT’s are heavier and wider... IMO very few tires compare to Toyo’s so I am stuck on them. I do however love Interco tires and know they would be better off road but I’m not willing to get 1/4 the tread life of the Radial Toyos...
I just didn’t realize how badly all terrains do in the mid when I bought them... So I have to go with a mud terrian or at least a hybrid tire.
Thanks for the reply though bud!

If you like toyos then why bother with looking at weight? They will be heavy! I would take a look at cooper tires but sounds like you and up your mind already.
