how much coolant will come out if I pull the thermostat? (1 Viewer)

4 mos ago I did the coolant, should've but didn't do the thermostat. How much coolant will come out if I change the t-stat without draining?

Did the same thing on my 60. Don't know how similar it will be, but on the 60 it was about a gallon. It also created a ton of air pockets and was a pain to burp afterwards.

a fair amount of the block coolant, some of the heaters, half of the rad?
look at the vertical position and the hoses...

A whole lot will come out, at least half. Drain the radiator into a clean container and put the same stuff back in after you finish. You will lose some so you will need to top it off.
