My makes some funny noise, and the shop wants 2hr labor to do the job, does it sound right? I wonder how difficult to do it as DIY.

super easy. 5 min to drop. 5 minutes to clean out the junk. 5 minutes to reinstall.
I was lucky to find a used one for $50 20k ago, replaced a squeaky one.

Agreed - very simple. And, it may just need a cleaning to make the noise go away. Check it before buying a new one.

UNRELATED: ogsuv, nice GN in your avi... I used to race them, fun car.

Pulled my blower motor to try to get rid of the whine that was bothering me. All was going fine (how hard can 3 screws and a quick clean be?)...

...then I dropped the thing on my driveway while trying to figure out how to clean it. The hamster wheel survived the fall, but the motor shell itself did not. And the whine is now the least of the problems with the blower motor.

There's a lesson in here somewhere.

I searched and cannot find a part number for the motor. Does anyone have that handy?

C Dan has them really reasonable & and it comes with a new fan too.

Also Sam @ Lowe has excellent prices.

Can confirm part 87103-60250 worked in my 07 LC. Cleaning leaves still left me with a ticking noise. So I replaced it with the part above and its like a new car. Had no idea how much that annoyed me. Thanks again mud members for the excellent write up.

I replaced mine in October and paid $126 from LexusPartsNow.

Chiming in to confirm, as above, that part # 87103-60250 is the FRONT blower motor and fan assembly. The first part I received was 87103-60260, which is the REAR blower motor assembly and a different part. Not sure if it was my error or the parts department error, but just make sure you're ordering the front blower assembly. 2004 LX470.

Resurrecting this thread as it recently helped me solve a problem with the blower motor in my 06. I tried cleaning it, but it didn't help so installed a brand new OEM one, and it's much better. Recording of the before and after:

Also this was helpful in showing the install (pretty simple):

Mine is currently making a ridiculous high pitch sound on all speeds except high. I've dropped it, cleaned out the few leaves in it, replaced and cleaned out the cabin air filters. And still have the high pitch noise.

What did the new OE unit set you back?

www.toyotapartsdeal.com has them for $165+tax.

$158 from toyotapartsdeal. But it was worth it, that noise was driving me nuts.
