I have the original stock white rims but was missing the chrome caps. I ordered the OEM chrome caps but there is no way to attach them. further I dont even see a place on the rim where clips would go. there must be clips somewhere can anyone post pics or parts numbers or links for these mystery clips??

Thanks!!!
PS IMPORT 40 -- maybe this is why no clips built into rim??

The original non split wheels for a 40 series wheel had spring steel tag clips that are riveted to the wheel center, someone my of snapped them off.

is there maybe a washer made that goes under the lugnut that would have a clip attached to it ??

As I recall, the first solid axle 4x4 mini-trucks in the US had white wheels with no cap clips. So that may be where your wheels came from. FJ40 Land Cruiser wheels were either black (through '67?) or gray (later) and all had cap clips here in the US.

Im starting to learn the ROW (rest of world ) 40's had older stuff on them. like the back doors and a few other things ive learned are from older US models.

Keep in mind, depending on what shape yours are in, new rims are available for about $120 a piece from the dealer.

will the rims still work if i convert to disc brakes? mine are in pretty good shape ( see above pics )

also how do you learn what is still available at dealer ?? I just overpaid about 10$ for shifter knobs to discover the seller bought them at the dealer!

I have a great relationship with my parts guy at our local dealership. We can usually get a discount. Besides the dealer, Cruiser Outfitters, Cruiser Corp or City Racer are usually my go to vendors.

You should prob combine your 2 threads you are asking the same questions in both...

Have a look in the FAQ and alot of stuff will be answered before posting.
