trying to trouble shoot this, need some pointers, for some reason the 15a fuse keeps blowing on the horn, i've traced the wires back from the horn, and can't find anyplace that it might be shorting out, what the heck am i looking for? The electrical manual isn't being much of a help to me.

Has to be a short or a bad ground, I kept blowing the AC blower relay and was told that the problem was a bad ground from the motor to the body.

hmm, any suggestions on which grounds may be coming loose or where to find them?

ever find anything on this? I keep having the same issue every couple weeks

Does it pop when you use the horn? Or does the horn simply stop working? Bad horns can pop fuses too

doesn't seem to be when I use it. Just randomly I'll try to use the horn (or the emergency flashers on the same fuse) and notice it doesn't work.

Still think is a bad ground or a short. :hhmm:

The horns are their own ground so maybe disco and scuff the contact points; horn to bracket, bracket to body.

I just got some Cadillac F A D C horns and will be installing them this week. IMHO the boss' truck needs more voice than a Tercel.

Does anyone else think it's ironic that the HORN fuse keeps BLOWING?

when this occurred in our 80, we found the contacts of the wires to the horns corroded - cleaned them up, problem solved :D

there was no fuse blowing involved

I never could pinpoint the issue. I ended up replacing the horn relay, which worked for a while then suddenly both horns died simultaneously. Had to order up some new Hellas. Haven't had any issues since then.
