Looks sweet!! And give them hell! can't wait to see the video, wonder if rides is doing a spot on it this year? Anyway, have a blast!!

Well, we are back from UA 2006. 1140 miles in a rock truck is not fun. However the event was a blast. Steering held up, needed a new v-belt halfway through the event. No breakage of drivetrain parts. Minor other issues but the truck is a little worse off than before. Two flops did not help. Lost the windshield and had to resort to Lowes for a replacement. :D

BFG Krawlers stick like sh#(&$t to a woolen blanket. Awsome traction.

Here is a before and after picture.

Some Idaho guys ran into you in Boise. They said it was pretty cool to see Slee Off Road stickers plastered on all of the vehicles. He thought it was sort of funny seeing them on non Toyotas. Sounded like you guys had a lot of fun.

i notice that the "before" pic has stuff on the roof, the "after" pic doesn't. Lose anything? :)

Christo, Just received the Petersen's 4Wheel mag. You were mentioned in this issue (Sept.) regarding their yellow FJ project truck. Looks real good!!!
**P.S. send out my OME would ya...

Well, we kinda lost the winshield and roofrack in the dunes. Now I have a cool winshield with UA2006 banner sticker to hang in the shop.

This was just after the roll.

PS, we do need a new shipping guy, Adrian is going back to college to become more educated.

Glad to hear that you guys and the truck made out ok and had a good time. It's always a good trip when you can make it home unhurt and the truck has some stories to tell. We'll all be looking for the write up in the future rag issue.

Cheers

Christo,
I've read some threads discussing hydraulic winches, and how the stock PS pump is not ideal for this use. I didn't take the time to confirm that your pump is suitable for this, but it likely is. Maybe once everything is finalized, you could market the hydraulic pump and mounting bracket in a kit form for use with hyd. winches. Just another way to recoup your design investment that some more folks in the 80's crowd might find useful.

B,

You have a valid point about the hyd. winches with a dedicated pump (I don't want hear the trash talk from the electric guys - another thread). What would be a more realistic approach for is to make the brackets and possibly the pump available for use for EITHER hyd steering OR whatever else (winch, etc) that way it's not quite as specialized.

The PSC pumps put out up to 1600psi and 4.5 gpm which are good numbers for those interested in a winch.

Christo,

hint, hint!!

yup, was gonna mention the hydraulic winches as well. The low psi of the OEM steering pump is holding me back on those...

I beleive that there's a right knuckle.

Looks like a LHF knuckle to me unless you backwards guys over there have your calipers at the front:flipoff2:
