Were there any seals or gaskets to help seal the front engine bay hood? Anyone got a good source for these? Trying to keep everything dry (ie computer).

My ECU is above the pedals - too late to move yours? They were in the engine bay of the donor vehicle, though, IIRC.

Computer?? Must be a 62 thing. If you don't want to move the computer, if that the problem, inside the cab, get a Pelican case, drill holes for the wires, put the computer inside the case and use some RTV in the wire area. I'm pretty sure the computer will stay dry.

When i was my Doing Body work I replaced the Hood Seal (above the fire wall) with Neoprene Strip I got from McMaster-Carr. It is 1/2" square with adhesive on one side. It worked great.

Edit -
Im sure you could use it up front too.

I'm not quite sure what you are trying to do? seal the hood so rain doesn't get in around the edges? Isn't the bottom open to the road? doesn't rain/mist come in through the radiator? When you go through a puddle big enough to touch the bottom of the radiator fan, won't water be sprayed around from underneath. To me a hood seal seems to be the least of the concerns.

I think Jose has the right idea. seal the computer not the entire engine compartment.

Agreed. Gonna solve this problem where it starts and ends...Pelican case it is.
The computer is the ECU for the LT1 harness. Extending the wiring loom for an interior placement would be insane.

The ECU on the 62's is located in the cab under the glove box. What electronics are you worried about?

The ECU on my LT1 Camaro is on the passenger side under the hood near the firewall. No issues after 170K miles with it there. GM makes a pretty tight ECU with good sealed connectors. I wouldn't sweat it that much. Even the vented Opti's are pretty well sealed. I poured warm coolant on mine for months until I finally replaced the leaking water pump (not that I'd recommend that). They're (the ECU and Opti) not as fragile as folks would have you believe IMHO.
