I know that. When i hit upload it give me an error page.

These are from my friend’s truck. He used to have a Safari snorkel, but for some reason he wanted to have two snorkels so he fab himself what you see on the pics. Is not personally my style, I will stick with the Safari, but I hope this helps.

P.S: By the way those tires are equivalent to a 38" this truck is really tall!

Damn that is one cool looking rig!

Those are some SWEET pics!

awesome pics and rig....sweet.

whent wheellin with a group few weekends back...all had clean filters to start, real dusty trails. We checked them at the end of the trip...mine with a snorkle was 60-80% cleaner than rigs without a snorkle...

Snorkels are for looks. They have limited functionality.

Are you really going to submerse your truck up to the headlights in water? If so, get a snorkel, if not, don't bother.

People have said they help when riding in caravans, but in caravans the dust rises.

On interstates heat rises.

I like snorkels and I would love to have one, but I don't want to spend the money on something that does not improve the truck besides the looks; especially for the money.

If I was rich, hell yeah, get a snorkel, at least you will look cool.

Head lights. Schnorkals? we don't need no stinkin' schnorkals.

Greg, good why to keep your undercarriage clean, eh? :D

Hey, bet that dude in the BJ had some pucker marks on that seat, eh?

FWIW, I'm no expert on the subject of snorkles, but I have done EXTENSIVE research on Ram Air for when I had my Mustang GT. Good reply by Benji about the heat rising. This is the reason that most aftermarket RAM AIR systems have the intake box below the front bumper, because that is where the coolest air is. Cooler air ALWAYS translates to more HP than warm air. That being said, there is still a benefit to having a snorkle function as a Ram Air type of system. Any time you can force air into your airbox, you are increasing your HP, that's just the way it works. At highway speeds (45+), having a snorkle means more HP than factory. Are you gonna tell me that your engine is getting enough cool air from INSIDE YOUR FENDER --- RIGHT NEXT TO YOUR ENGINE??? A snorkle, even though it is 6-8 feet off the pavement, is still providing your engine with cooler, more abundant air than a factory intake system. Oh, and it looks cool!!!

on this crossing my truck did hit a washbar under the water and go in over the headlights... it chugged along just fine...
that is my old truck. my new truck, with 33s and a snorkle has yet to see water up over the headlights... i cant imagine water that high here in new england. oh yeah, and it is aweful on tight trails, gets in the way more than you can imagine.

If your factory intake tract is in tact, then yes. Factory intakes take their air from just behind the headlight, not next to the engine.

Ram air? You get a much straighter shot at the air box with a factory air intake than a snorkle, so you also get a much higher 'ram effect'.

How many of you guys are missing your factory air pick up hose? I bet a lot.

my hose is there still.....almost wish it wasnt when my front wheels went off the ledge and the lights hit the water.....eek

On an unwaterproofed rig you don't need to get to the bottom of the headlights. The fan can throw the water around and short your ingition system. I have had mine pretty deep after waterproofing the engine and it runs fine with the headlights underwater. That's on a 1FZ though.

A snorkel is a PIA on the road because of all of the stupid questions. Off the road it is downright dangerous because you'll be the one to volenteer or be elected to go in to see if the group can make it.

It did save my w/s frame last trip out when the truck was leaning against a tree. :D

isnt that the navigators job? :D

I think a snorkel is cheap insurance for your engine. In the North East water will tend to pool on the trails in that the ground is so full of glacier rock. plus most of the trails are tight due to it being a perfect enviroment for trees to grow. and with trees and water you get Beavers. and Beavers can turn a dry section one week into 3-4 feet the next week end.
i attached some pic of a local stock to moderate trail that turned alittle interesting due to ice and a beaver damm flooding this section of trail. The water was above where the stock intake sucks in air. the only issues i had was that my passenger side H2 and H4 bulbs had filled with water.
