I'm going to be making a bikini top at work (have sewing machine and materials there) but I'm not sure on the best way to fix it to the windshield. Does anyone have any pictures and/or advice? Thanks

i got my best top channel at lordco, same part for heep or cruiser.
they will have to order it (as with everything else
) but it was cheap.
you can get the plastic insert that fits (gets sewn into) the top as well.
you could always do something custom, check out june bros or try one of the "better" marine shops that do boat tops.

Do you have a front hoop on your roll cage? if so, make it roll under there and not connect to the winshield , so you can lay it down without taking to the top off. if you are into that. Just my .02, Kodi

Take a long piece of hollow square aluminum tube. Use a saw to cut a slit in it. Cut the ends at an angle and smooth down so when you stretch the top over the edges you dont cut it. Drill holes for bolts and attach to the windshield. Sew a piece of rope into the bikini top and thread it into the slit.

Because i have a 74 with the wiper arms on the top of the the windshield frame i have decided to use a piece of strap measuring 1 1/2'' x 1/4 '' x 4'. I have cut the top of the strap to match the contour of the windshield, also had to allow to slots for the wipers themselves. I then drilled 4 holes in order to mount this strap to the existing (4) 10mm bolt holes. I plan to sew some heavy canvas around the strap. I will inform you all of the rest as it comes

a correction from my last post, 6mm bolts not 10mm

So far it is going well here are a couple of pics... I will post some of it installed and complete... I am using some 7/16'' stainless gromets and zip ties to mount the back of the bikini to the roll bar. My whole goal was to eliminate those ridiculous (2) straps that get in EVERYONES way on your normal bikini.....

finished er up and man i am thoroughly impressed with it.... 
I tested it out on the freeway and minimal stretching from the wind resistance... I am sure eventually i will have some stretching, but thats what the "self adjusting" gromet/zip ties are for.

We'll Thank you... to be honest wasnt even thinking about producing for clients, but for the right price anything can be done
... If you are serious let me know.. Actually this is my 2nd to create and i learned ALOT from the First, I am confident they will only get better... As far as demisions I wish i would have gotten them while it was flat on the floor. The heavy zip ties i used were $6.00 for 15, Soooo I not sure how soon this bikini will be comming off.... I can get some ruffff measurements with it on as is.Nice! I was putting this on my list to make. What kind of fabric did you use?

Used the heaviest canvas i could find at the fabric store. Every lady in there looked at me strange, then on top of that i think they thought i was quere when i told them i was making a bikini top....... I left it at that
