In other news...the 3rd set of knuckle arms arrived from 4x4Labs this week. This time they did mark "warrantee service" on the shipping label, so i was spared the $50 ding from Canada Customs.
However, the new arms, though configured differently than the previous two sets, effectively put the tie rod in exactly the same position, that is to say too damn close to to the chassis.
After three months of this, the entertainment value is starting to drop a bit for me
I called them again, and Brian at the company took down my suggestion for how to bend the knuckle arms so they fit my application (I still have no idea what is so unusual about a 40 axle with OME 2.5" Dakar springs, but what do i know?) - he said he would bend them up immediately and get them out to me. So they are trying to help me out- and they won't be requiring another $275 security deposit, which I thought was reasonable.
It's a drag that HJ will have to sit on blocks for another 2 weeks, but I guess there's plenty of other stuff to do.
