Great! I will miss seeing it everyday on my way to work but oh well. I would really like to see it go to a mud member and watch a build of it. Just maybe.

I hope someone here got it! I want to see a build of it. I probably should have bought it, but I am done with frame offs for awhile. Oh well.

His reserve was low enough you should have. I was the high bidder for a few days. I called to ask him if he wanted to pull it from ebay since he got what he wanted. He didn't, and got another $1,000. out of it. Smart on his part.

I should have bought it months ago when he offered it to me. I declined as I was in the final stages of a frame off resto and did not want to tackle another one. Oh well.
Looks like it is going to New Mexico.

That's a screaming deal for that truck. I look at '45 pickups in Central America a fair bit and I can't touch anything for under $4,500. Most go for $6-$10k w/o shipping costs factored...

Where in Central America are you looking? Are they giving you the Gringo price? I have been to Guatemala several times and found some decent ones for $2,500 -$5,000.

Is this for the diesel versions?
The diesel versions would start at about $5,000. To be honest with you, I would not want an original HJ45. They are fine but down there, they beat the crap out of them like all their Cruisers. I would rather buy a clean and cheaper FJ45 and get it home to do a diesel swap like a 1HZ/H55F. Just my opinion though. In fact, the last time I was in Guatemala, it was a little harder to find 45's. They are not everywhere like they used to be. Although, I did find the 45 Mecca. I saw about 20 of them in about 5 minutes in this little town. Not telling where it is though :)

Aha, my ears were ringing... :)

It did indeed end up in New Mexico.

Time will tell if I got a "screaming" deal or not though. I'm overjoyed with it though. I've been looking for a diesel landcruiser for a couple years now, and not only did this one pop up within the range of one tank of fuel, but it came up at a price I could afford, and at a time when I am between jobs so I had the ability to drive up and check it out prior to bidding, and after buying.

You know what they say about when you have the money and no time, and having the time but no money, right? Apparently I found a way to defy conventional wisdom. :)

You will definitely see the buildup here. Going to have to wait for a couple months at least though, not only do I need to stockpile money, but that whole new job thing means I'll be enjoying a hotel room in St. Louis for nearly 2 months straight. yay?
