this HJ-61 with a 12 HT engine has only 118.000 klm.
a quick view under the chassis is enough to understand somebody that the car almost never had been driven offroad. not have any scratches or marks ,signs that came from an offroad path .

the rear brake cylinders and the front calipers found in no good condition. no service maybe for 40 years (except renewed the brake pads),
the piston found stucked with sufficient rust.

8 bar compressed air was not enough to push the pistons. so a hydraulic pump enganged..

the radiator it was full of mud as all the cooling system.the previous owner use for 40 years only plain water.. we were lucky because the metals that used toyota in that era were in excellent condition. i dont believe if a prado , 90series or 120 series use for 20 years (half) ,plain water would survive..
for radiator used chemical in medium quantities and hot water 100 deg C and compressed air to create bubbles for helping the procedure. the water with chemical renewed till the water coming out totally clean.

the first view of thermostat's inner space was a significant sign and a representative sample of engine's condition.
old tested parallel with the nes as per maker's manual to see the max opening and the time that need for full opening.
the factor of the aging material of the spring is important for a short pipeline system.

rubber hoses were soft (quality of toyota even after 40 years) but the use of plain water built the walls internally rust .
the use of original toyota coolant liquid contains silicon .(everybody can feel it to his hands this sticky sense) this create a film to the walls and do not allow to build rust and prevent also the metal system of engine.improve the flow against to friction. (my 90 series 1998 till today is like brand new inside and every 2 years a renew it even if i do not reach the 40,000 klms . the rubber hoses are as came from the factory yesterday).
for cleaning this rust i use the sauna system. cold and hot water many times and the rust start to brake as small pieces of biscuits by just squeezing the pipe as a massage moves.

commenced to cleaned the heaters radiators separately as the main radiator. connected hoses to the system and with 100 deg C and using a pump .after 1 hour drain the water and checked the condition colour and impurities that removed from the chemical.
3 hours for the rear heater and 3 hours for the front heater.
the colour of the containers reveals the quantity of the mud and rust inside.especially the first container to the right has signs to the surface from the mud .

engine oil remained at least 8 years inside and the car not used to the garage. we didnt know how many klms had before. so we proceed to a lube oil analysis that shows the condition of the engine. (this is a must (together with a compression pressure before you buy a car ,saves you from a lot of money) .
when we saw red and critical numbers to the analysis that came from engine ..molybdenium is an element that exists also as an additive to oils (but we do not know what kind of oil had inside ,even the brand name..) but this element exists also to ball bearings and to thrust washers i.e.
sumptank removed to checked for sludges or impurities and found in excellent condition. but when checked the liners inside found vertical scratches .
the "X" lines are normal and is a part of a honing procedure that take place internally and the reason is to keep the oil more time to the surface and not to slip down very fast. this is for better lubrication

for removal of the intermediate flange of sumptank needs to remove the 2 lube oil pipes. was a good chance to inspect the oil net filter .renew the gaskets and installed back.
