During the last trip crossing some big dunes stuffed the rear bumper in the sand going through a ditch which pulled open the tire carrier handle swinging it round and damaging the taillights luckily not so bad, I'll be changing the handle to one with a locking mechanism to stop it from accidentally opening up.

Do you find that the sand gets everywhere when driving around out there? Is dust a concern inside?

It does get dusty quite quickly inside but I'm not sure if it's the seals or through the ac. I have Armor all interior wipes to clean up and a microfiber cloth as well. I usually get down to a car wash after a trip through the dunes to put it on the lift and inspect the underside and get it cleaned up inside and out.

Ouch.. fortunate that it didn't broke the whole light ! Strap it good now.

Dust is not that bad - tend to keep the windows shut as much as we can - but yes it gets everywhere. One good air hose and everything is back to Normal. I have even put a plastic film on floor, as you scoop gzillions grams of sand onto your floor mats every time.. Again, air hose'zzzzz and all the sand is out.

what pressure were you running in?

15psi

slid down into a ditch and all weight pushed down on rear right tire pushing it off the rim.

Went to have a look at what's available at the jewelers as Valentines is coming up and had a close call.

The pop out with 15 PSI :hhmm:

Do you was able to resolve on the trip, or do you mount the spare tyre?

I just reduce that much, when i get stuck. In Namibia i use 18 PSI.

But more often - i was too lazy for reducing the pressure - and the horse power was enough to handle the sand.

Nice pictures! - The videos i cant look at work :crybaby:

I usually deflate to 18psi and more to 15 if the sand is very soft. For the popout we aired the tire up until it popped back on to the rim because I realized one of the nuts holding the spare tire was of a wrong pattern and couldn't remove it

Desert Nomad - you gotta share your Shamil or RTA hookup with me some day.

My Jeep never passes the inspection - I'm about to staple 500AED to my Mulkiya and just see if that works.

Next option is submit my DXB tags and try for RAK tags (now that I finally got a RAK TC number).

If that doesn't work Ill just ask my cousin (local) to register it in his name.

I love it too :)

Unfortunately it is not possible to do it - it isn`t legal (in Europe) :hhmm:

:frown:

Its not legal here either, unless you have wasta or a Muslim woman.
