Like! Nicer than the ARB, like i have - when you ask me :-)

That was a good upgrade! Do you consider a ground/Sand anchor? Just a winch may not be that helpful - in the sand-desert...

I am looking into a ground anchor but i don't know how effective it will be in the desert, but this way when more than one vehicle recoveries will be much more controlled and safer than with a snatch strap even though i always pull a slowly and steady as possible in recoveries.

On another note I got home and noticed an oil stain on the rear diff  have to check the oil levels on the diffs again i'm hoping it's overspill from topping up, as the dealership over tighten the filler plug and broke the seal last time and the diff was slowly leaking oil especially at odd angles off road and they said it was "normal" :censor: the dealership have a good bunch working there and very understanding no hassles over suspension upgrade or the auto locker in the rear their only problem is focusing on quantity over quality

Thanks,

1. I looked for the original carrier but to fit rear tailgate has to be changed and side panel has to be cut and have reinforcement added behind, seemed like too much work for a simple carrier for me and it's very difficult to find a garage that can do proper work here as well. ARB was too heavy for my liking and I didn't like the look of the rear bumper what I wanted was the Kaymar carrier http://www.kaymar.com.au/vehicles/toyota/toyota_200_GX.php I prefer their carrier and rear bumpers but they had a very long waiting time to get shipped by ARB and wasn't sure if they'd get them or not so had it fabricated here for roughly 2,500AED.

2. I'm sure the other guys won't mind you coming along but I'll have to run it by them first, we usually go early mornings on weekends either in DXB or SHJ and go for 4-6 hour drives

Good morning boss

Thanx for the replay , and once you agree that we join its fine with me how early you leave .

By the way , im going for the ARB suspension and fuel tank , so i need to remove my spare tyre and have to go for the factory spare tyre carrier.

Thank you again boss

You can goto Al Awear and get the aftermarket style carries that will look like OEM but allows you to keep the tail gate already installed on your TLC. (Check Al Doha)

To go 100% OEM it will require some cutting and welding on the passengerside quarter panel (I have done it about 30 times now and its a pain in the ass) Also you will have to replace the lower section of your tail gate and cut the rear bumper.

Dubai 4X4 have some Chinese copies of the aussy style bumpers but not sure the quality or price.

No i think im going for the original parts , but what i heard that the 200 is ready to fit the rear carrier , no need to reinforce it because it is already fitted , but i will check and let you know guys.
And thanx again for all informations

Regards

Be careful of rumors or internet experts - I am telling you from past experience. You will have to add re-enforce the upper arm. Also the lower section of the tail gate will not accept the latch system.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/gu9udx31kyvsjyv/Rear Wheel Carrier Modification.pdf

you can look at the tail gate and see it says "Landcruiser" on both the top and lower section of the tail gate.

Like i said before I have to do this mod on over 30 armored TLC's - its going to be alot of work to do it correctly, and if you dont do it right it will be major damage to the passenger side panel.

Dollar auto car http://www.dollarauto.ae (IRONMAN distributor) can do the OEM wheel carrier for around 12k AED I think.

I wouldn't go near dubai 4wd trade in aweer market as they tried to sell me a carrier meant to fit in a hitch receiver and wanted to cut a hole through the chassis and attach it from there, I wouldn't trust their work or judgment... just my 2cents

On another note went over to ARB today and swapped the front springs to level the lc with the weight of the bumper + winch and walked out with a pair of IPF lights.

and some numpty decided to take the plastic TJM cover on top of the bumper as a souvenir :mad::mad:

I cant promise but I might be converting a rear carrier TLC's to spare wheel under the rear. Customer doesnt like the tire on the back. I will ask my cost controller how much he will sell the parts I take off the TLC and get back with you.

Got some night shots of the Cruiser

Had to drive down to the capital today did 460 kms and when I reached home noticed this. It either broke from the heat or when Justin Bieber started playing on the radio and I frantically tried to change the channel.

Going through old pictures found some nice ones of my previous 4x4 and thought to post some up even though it's not a Toyota. This one really has a spot in my heart, I really really loved this one.

First pic is really IH8MUD

Also put a cruiser through it's paces till it punctured it's crap dunlops

Even though it spent a lot of time on top of recovery trucks :crybaby:

In the end had enough and had it replaced with this

:crybaby: Unfortunately it didn't last a month before this happened

Didn't mean to put so much but this was my story before getting a 200,

Dude seriously, I am glad you are still alive and posting after that Landy flip that looks nasty.

Stay safe your in a better safer vehicle and with an AC that actually works

Thanks, I considered myself very lucky as the roof was resting on my shoulder and neck at the end, if it rolled once more I think it would've been a much different story. I walked off with a few scratches on my ear and a dunce cap.
