I have a high pitched whine coming from my right front tire. Incidentally, I had the car in a tire shop on several days ago to have the tires rotated. It doesn't sound like metal on metal. Its not real loud either. It doesn't come from pressing on brakes. It seems pretty consistent though when the tire is moving. It stops when car stops. Any thoughts?

Did you check to see if the lug nuts are tight?

Are you sure it's not the dust shield ? It's probably bent during the process.

Frank.

Thanks for the response. Where is the dust seal and can you tell me how to check it?

Were the tires wearing evenly before the rotating? A unevenly worn tire that is rotated so that it runs in the opposite direction will make a lot of noise and wear at a fast rate.

rsm,

It's the big metal plate that's behind the rotor.

cheers,
Frank.

Is your wife in the cruise when you hear this "high pitched wine" ?? :D
