Hey guys I’m trying to get my high beams working as they haven’t since I bought the truck. Here’s my scenario:

1.Low beams work perfect.
2. light above steering console indicating high beam doesn’t turn on when I push the stick forward or bring it toward me
3. It appears switching is taking place because when I push the Switch forward or backwards my low beams go off
4. Fog lights don’t work

any help is greatly appreciated. It’s a 2003 Landcruiser

Have you checked the two 20A high beam fuses?
Would that cause the high beam indicator light on the dash not to work too?

Yes, the dash indicator light is powered from the same fuse as one of the high beam bulbs.
Any idea if there’s correlation to the fog lights. Is that another fuse close to the high beam fuses

Check fuses 12, 29, and 30 in the fuse box next to the battery. Their function should also be printed on the fuse box cover.

Changed fuses..Fog lights now operational. High beams and dash indicator still a no

Ok, do your daytime running lights (DRL) work? They should be on when the headlight switch is set to OFF or AUTO in the daylight.

The DRLs are simply the high beam bulbs run at a reduced power. If they work you know the bulbs are ok.

Someone might have turned the dtr off in techstream, assuming you can on the 2003s.

Also In the late 100s the blue indicator on the combo meter is triggered by one of the low beam fuses
I know that sounds odd, and it might be a combination of high beam voltage and the low beam fuse.
I spent many days wondering why my blue light disappeared.
I was running one low beam and one high beam fuse only.
But it turned out I needed both low beams in there for the dash indicator.
Double check those two. Swap them with new and check voltage on the 9005 high beam wires, should be red/yellow and other side red/green,,, I think

Where are those wires?

The two pronged plugs that plug into the high beam light bulbs. They will on have a ground continuity with the headlight stalk in the high beam position.

Is there a chance both would be not working if one fuse was bad. In my research I think I saw that if it was a grounding issue the highs and lows would work as they share ground. I could have misread.

There is a chance of what your saying IF the daytime running light relay was messed up.

The headlights should working independently of each other, hence 4 fuses and 4 relays on the main board.
It should be pretty easy to figure out, but I realize it isn't. The wiring book is really helpful.
For cheap money everyone should have one.

Have you replaced the bulbs .... or did I miss that conversation? Your DRL's and HB don't work so try a new bulb
The non-functioning dash light would indicate an issue with power to the whole circuit. The dash bulb would illuminate even if the bulbs were burnt out.

That’s what I’m thinking. Do you know what replacement part I should be targeting?

I don’t have a 2003 wiring diagram (only 98-01) but I’d guess it’s probably your DRL relay or DIM relay. If someone has the diagram, or confirm it’s the same as a 98-01, I could tell you how to test the relay.

Any chance it’s this? Dimmer/hl/turn signal switch?

No, the DRL relay is under your dash. On 98-01 it's above the brake pedal, not sure if it's in the same place for 2003.

Here is the relay testing procedure from the 2004 Factory Service Manual:
