Hey everyone,

Just got a single owner 2014 lx570 with 58k miles. Thing is a tank compared to all my previous vehicles and the engine is a beast I've only had the pleasure of driving when i was a valet in college.

Before signing up for a screen name, all my google queries consistently returned results from this forum and all the illustrious poasters who regularly comment here :)

As far as i can tell, highest priority seems to be watch out for radiator leaks. I have also been fascinated by all the info on globe accumulator replacement. Any advice on when to change those out?

The TPMS sensor went off two weeks after i bought it. All tires, including spare which i checked are full up. Reset button doesn't seem to be working. Vehicle came with some Hankook Dynapro HP2 285/50R20 tires. Decent amount of tread left altho i believe they are from 2023. Possible valve stem or sensor issue?

Anyway, stoked and privileged to get a hold of one of these machines. Looking forward to learning from you all and contributing where i can.

All the best,
Wstclx

Welcome! That’s quite a find……really low miles. It’s certainly possible a tpms sensor has a dead battery at 11 years. You can have that checked out at tire shop like discount tire.

I set aside $2000 for repairs/baselining 18 months ago when I got my 2014 - I've spent roughly $1500 of that doing globes, radiator, water pump, idler, thermostat, etc.

Looking back, I think the globes are probably the most time-related item on the list - yours are now 11 years old and might possibly have lost enough pressurized gas to justify replacement. The hard parts seem to be more a combination of time & mileage - and you are low mileage - so maybe monitor and wait.

There is some evidence to suggest that the coolant is also time sensitive. It's a cheap and easy replacement (use the Toyota 50/50 mix).

Go ahead and replace other fluids, just because. Plenty of baselining threads around for specifics.

Enjoy the ride!

Welcome. A great find with the low miles. A good test with the globes is if u can tell difference between sport vs comfort. If you can not then change the globes and flush fluid.

There is a lot of information and great members who will help you in this forum.

Thanks! Yeah was a garaged grocery getter. That's good to know...have friends with Toyotas that have been riding around for years with that indicator but seems annoying to me.

Hi Willie G, thanks for the warm welcome and great info. Super amateur wrench but i think i can tackle several of these items myself. The radiator spooks me a bit. Maybe i can work up to that. Cheers!

Thanks 32. That actually makes a lot of sense. I'm going to try that tomorrow. Lotta wisdom to be gleaned and generous people in here that's for sure!
