I installed the HFS 4" lift with 1.5" shackles on my 74 FJ40 and my brand new OEM relay rod is right against the drivers HFS shock. I called CCOT when I first notice and Manny told me to wait until more weight was on the truck, well a year later I have the complete drive train, & body installed and the rod is still right against the shock with the wheels straight, I cannot even think about turning it to the left or I will bend the new rod. I called Manny again, and asked if different shackles or shocks would help, he said he would think about it and call me back, well 2 weeks later and still waiting for that call back! I ordered the complete kit, thinking it would all work together with no issues. Has anyone had this issue with HFS suspension from CCOT?

Didja try searchin? This is a pretty common problem. You're options are to use skinnier bodied shocks, ford f250 shock towers, switch to your favorite power steering option, or start bending what you have.

Good luck!

I have the 4" HFS but with Bilstien shocks. I have no rubbing because my drag link is already bent but if I am articulated with the wheel turned to left really hard then the drag link eats up my tire. I am about to do a saginaw P/S conversion to get rid of the drag link all together.
