Yep... I was heading out and going to be by our HF, so I grabbed the 4 6-ton ones I had and took them back. Got a gift card for $171. It’s been almost a year, but I cannot see that I ever paid that much though 🤔

Off to offer up to find some cheap HF jack stands........

Well s***. Thanks @JohnVee Glad I haven’t crushed my skull yet.

I have the same 6 ton jack stands for years and I haven't died yet, so I assume mine are good.

My 4 old orange 6T ones are 38847 so I guess I'm good.

I've said before you should be OK buying things without (many) moving parts from HF. I guess they had to prove me wrong.

My rule of thumb for HF. If it has a cord, runs on air or my life may depend on it, no purchase!

All of these same style jack stands have to be made in the same factory. Duralast, Northern Tool, HF, Tractor Supply, whatever. I wouldn't put a whole lot of trust in any of them. This is why we put tires underneath our axles, in addition to jackstands, when working underneath the truck.

Taking back my 3 sets of 3/6 ton stands this weekend that I've had for years. Ordered up some Northern tool stands with the pin lock redundancy.

I'd recommend picking up a set of these:

Hein-Werner 6-ton stands

Big Red (Torin) 6-ton stands

I've had my Torin (big red) stands for a while, bought them at Northern Tool. I believe the ones that @Hokie LX posted are a similar manufacturer to Torin's stands or made the same. Can't go wrong with the double lock design.
