Spoke with Hennessy and they are using TRD blowers, adding injectors, intercooler and a tune. 5yr/40k warranty.

That's odd, when i spoke with them they were adamant that they do not use TRD SC. i don't think they are as good as TRD overall. i've done a lot of homework....although one could question my homework based on the fact that i have the unsolvable code issue

The dash lights came back on when the temperature dropped but it warmed up again and currently they are off. I spoke to Jack at Unichip and he was very helpful. He recommended by friend at the Toyota dealership contact their tuner, Tony. Tony is putting together a new program for the Unichip and hopefully that resolves all future issues.

mines still throwing codes 4-5 times/day, even when sitting idle...Joke at best, but i'm fed up. i guess either sparks or Jack at Unichip will rech out ot me once they have the new program as Jack has sent me a cable so that he (his technician) can remotely re-map/configure my Unichip...

thanks for your help!!! :cheers::cheers::cheers:

We found the truck was running excessively rich at idle and not quite lean enough when cruising. Unichip sent over a new tune and we uploaded it on Thursday. The dash lights have been off for some time and hopefully the new tune will keep them off. I am hoping to get the truck back out on the road with the tech to check the fuel ratios this coming week.

IGOP, thanks for the update. however i find that the LC is always "holding" the codes as "pending" which means it only takes one further "fault" for the LC to then throw the codes. how did you test/find that the it's running to rich on idle and not lean enough when criusing? i find my codes get thrown more often when i am driving aggressive and come to an abrupt stop/round-about/crossing/etc...i know have the cable and software loaded on a PC laptop i bought specifically to use on my cars with their respective software and cable's.

I'm keen to see what URD comes up with once they get what they need to re-map the ECU

Invader simply do not answer any calls or reply to any email regardless of the emaill address used.

i'm still trying very hard to resolve this through other avenues as i can't believe UNICHIP has taken this many months to sort this out.:bang::bang::bang:

LCKID,
Sorry you have had so many issues with your supercharger. My buddy at the local Toyota dealership hooked up their diagnostic computer and we went for a drive. At idle the fuel trim was -32 and cruising at 70mph it was -7. We copied the data and passed it along to Unichip, and their tuner, Tony, adjusted the map and we downloaded it. They also offered to tune it on their dyno if I drive over to Portland. Unichip wasn't the most responsive but my guess is they are a small company trying to take care of a bunch of customers. I'll keep you updated on the new tune.

lgop, thanks a lot. i'm going to have the dealer here do the same, although i have all the cables and also a BT gopoint with dash command. maybei there is a way for me to "test" the FT's. i get both a ST and LT reading with dash command, however i is constantly shifting (big swings)

:cheers:

Not to jump in, but do either of you have a AFR gauge hooked up so that you can see what the actual AFR's are? Anytime you run a piggy back or remap of the stock computer the tuner is basically fooling the computer to read the AFR's he wants while the stock computer thinks it is seeing the 14.7 it wants to see.

Under boost you always want to run richer than a naturally aspirated truck. So if the tuner is doing the right thing and running a little richer any where from 11.5-13:1 like he should and the stock O2 sensor's see that they are going to throw a code unless the parameter the computer is looking for has been changed.

I know you probably don't want to add a bunch of stuff to your 200 series and make it look like a $5k honda, but I think at the very least you need an accurate way to independently measure boost and AFR. Running rich isn't the end of the world, you will just get worse gas mileage and possibly foul spark plugs, but running lean is a quick way to destroy a motor. And if you are relying on engine codes after a piggyback or unichip I feel like you really can't know what is truly going on.

And just so you know I am not some kind of keyboard warrior. My truck is making just under 490hp and 615ft/lbs est crank power. And that is just a stock old 4.5L with stock gears and 35's

really appreciate your input. i've got a 450Km drive today and will check this with my GoPoint etc. i believe the tune is totally off as Invader are able to achieve 600BHP with their tune on the TRD SC. adding the DT Long tube headers and the right tune i "should" be well over the 600BHP mark, now just hope that the axle shafts and tranny can handle this....fun and nerve wrecking at the same time.

Hi, any news/update on the tune? this truck can definitely put out more power and for some reason everyone but UNICHIP has figured how to do it.
