Some of you have heard my stories about a friend of mine who bought this cruiser 3 years ago. She has yet to get it running. But she is real close.

I'm planning on going over to get it running around 12 on Sunday. If anyof you would like to come help me please chime in.

She lives in Berea.

She joined UC this week after having a heart to heart talk with the Cuban.

Good luck! Can't make it, but women with cruisers and swampers are okay with me! :)

I may be free Sunday afternoon. If so I'll come, I'm close.
She looks familiar, have I seen this pic before? Cool truck.

I'm impressed, she joined AFTER talking to the Cuban.

Just goes to show that you NEVER can predict what will happen! :flipoff2:

I'm going to be working on my Pig all weekend as the wifey is out of town. I'm in crunch time to get the Pig ready for the annual meeting. I'll break away for a few hours to swing by. PM me an address. Maybe I can even drive the Piggie! See, that will be two miracles! :grinpimp:

Okay you bastards. Come on. Take some Advil shake off the hangover and get out and help a cruiser chick. Call me if you want to come help. 414-0563

high noon

13 Willis Ave.
Greenville 29611

IF COMING FROM 85: take the exit for hwy 25, merge/turn onto 25 north(towards TR/ashville). After a few miles you'll come to a major intersection which is hwy 25 & 253 (Taco Bell/McD's/Walgreens corner) Turn right onto 253. Turn right at the first road, Arch (across from the Hot Spot Gas Station). At stop sign turn left, this is Willis Ave. I"m down on the right, white house, white truck, yellow ghetto trailer.

IF COMING FROM DOWNTOWN: Cross over Academy and stay straight on 183. Turn left at the major intersection of 183 & 253 (Harbor Seafood and 2 gas stations at intersection). Go through a few lights, see the Hot Spot on your right, turn left onto Arch. Left at the stop sign onto Willis, etc, etc.

I'm planning on showing up as soon as I can. I've got my fenders on, signals are going on and the grill and front valence should be on by noon. That leaves the doors and I can take this thing for a drive (once I tighten down the emergency brake.) I'll give you a call Marshall if I need a rescue squad. I won't be able to hang out for too long as I need to get some work done on the tailgate before the annual meeting and I won't have much if any time to work this week.

Oh, and no hangover here....this isn't the mafia. :grinpimp:

It's alive.

Thanks to Wild Bill, Jen and yours truley we have another Club member with a running 40. Needed lots of attention but she is good to go. New battery, filled with fluids, put the gauge cluster back in, a little gas and track down some wires to no where. Fired right up. Timed and she was off. After sitting for 4 years. Still needs to go through the brakes ( I think one is sticking ), needs a clutch master and slave and change all the fluids I think it would be ready for a trip anywhere.

I'm hoping she will chime in.

I gave you a call a little after 4 Marshall as I was throwing my mirrors on my Pig so I would be legal to drive her to Berea. Sorry I didn't make it sooner. Its a small world - I met Jen at the Sunrift Annual Sale and saw her just a few minutes ago. She was psyched to get her 40 running and I'm in the lineup to replace her rear pinion seal.

Cool....another 40 is alive. Does the direction of the coil matter? I notice her coil has the plug pointing up...mine is turned the opposite direction....

coil looks like it is bolted over there in the corner...or it is loose for now...

Direction doesn't matter. Cap was off while I figured out how to get Top dead center. She had installed a Mallory dual points dist. I hate those things. Rocking the cruiser to get there was fun since it had sunk into the ground about 4 inches.

It did try to run backwards at first but we pulled the coil wire out and reversed it.
Figured that would be easier than having one gear forward and three in reverse.

Ran into our cruiser lady at Sunrift this evening. She is still stoked about getting the 40 running. She has replaced some bursting hoses, gotten registration and tags and driven around the block a couple of times. Last time she started it it wouldn't go over several miles per hour. Maybe cold, maybe a locked brake, maybe needs another look.
She will be on mud to report in person when she figures out how to make it work. I gave her some hints.

A bunch of fine pork products will be consumed. There is a thread in the UC forum about the Pumpkin Pig Run. Three days and two nights of wheeling! Yippie!:bounce:

Jen the 'Pig' is the FJ55 Land Cruiser. It was the first LC that looked like a station wagon, sort of. The first Toyota SUV, commonly yclept 'The Iron Pig'. Built in the 70s and early 80s I think.
Eventhough's truck is a Piggie, see his avatar and pics from the Annual Mtg. We hoped to have a run featuring 55s but we don't seem to have attracted many. K9crazy, Marshall and some others are purported to have some in various stages of resto.
The place we are going is known to us as 'The Holy Land'. It's some national park near Cullowhee NC that has good trailing and high mtn balds for camping.
If you can get your 40 sorted out by then bring it. If not come anyway in your minitruck and trail with someone. It's a really fine place.

Note to UC: did this get advertised in the Pig section of Mud?
