I’m looking to buy my first Land Cruiser, Lc100. The one I’m looking at has 255k and timing belt was last done at 90k. Thermostat has been replaced and coolant fluid flushed twice within 30k. Solid maintenance records with oil changes, brakes and fluids. The asking price is around $17k. I know very little about these and would like some advice on if it’s a good purchase. I’ve attached a video with start up and idle. Thanks.

It’s a 2003 and minimal rust

You have a link to the ad, pictures, ...?

Here's also a guide:

I'm confused by the "Solid maintenance records with oil changes, brakes and fluids." but the timing belt was last done 165k miles ago? Did you mean the timing belt was done 90k ago and is due to be done again? It's an every 90k mile service. Where are the service records from? Is it a reputable shop?

I don't think it's work $17k either way with that mileage. Maybe $12k and it would need to be really clean/garage kept for me at that price.

I meant besides the timing belt, other basic maintenance seemed to be kept up with.

I also suggest $17k is a bit high and that $12k sounds about right. Negotiate, they are expecting you to no matter what they say.

Same here. Maintainance back or forth: I'd a) buy private and b) 17k + tax and whatever the dealer charges will be too high.

All other maintenance claims are suspect if the current timing belt has 165K on it. That's 75K miles past recommended...so it should have had almost two TB services in that time. That also means the Water pump has that many miles on it as well. So probably hasn't had stuff like coils either.

It's in Florida right now, but where is it from?

Undercarriage shots/pics mandatory.
