Help with my 2000 Land cruiser

Just wanted to give everybody a update. Changed the front 2 o2 sensor and unfortunately i'm still having the idle surging problem. Will try and clean up the throttle body and maf sensor asap and report back. Been super cold here so haven't been able to work on this problem as fast as I want to.

I disconnected the battery for 30mins at least, I didn't test the battery but according to my gauges I'm a notch below 18V.

You cleaned & greased battery post right?
Did you do the tune-up while battery disconnected?
Did you verify codes present and what they indicate (DTC)?
Run a can of 44K in gas tank?

(Tune up: Air filter, MAF (battery disconnected for 30 min), T-body, spark plugs & PCV cleaning & inspecting. Check condition of all vacuum hoses and check for vacuum leaks)

Is that a typo 18v
I think he's referring to upper end of instrument panel battery gauge! Could mean alternator is working to hard, if doesn't drop back a bit after warm up and driving.
Normal for my LC is pictured after warm:

Hello again, sorry for the slow response time. Yes, I was referring to the instrument panel and mine looks just like 2001LC's. I have cleaned the battery post, and also disconnected the battery while doing the tune up. I have cleaned the MAF sensor and the T-body as best as I could. A few of the vacuum hoses don’t look like they are in the best of condition and I have ordered replacement hoses for them already.

One thing I did notice is there are a couple plugs that are disconnected and not sure where they are supposed to go. This isn’t anything that I have touched but just noticed it. I honestly don't know much about the history of this cruiser, so i'm not sure if something is missing with these plugs or if this is normal.

No worries, those are extras. You find lots of plugs around your rig for option you don't have.

Wanted to give a update. I took the cruiser to a friend of mine that is a mechanic, he hooked the car up to his snapon verus diagnostic tablet and everything looked normal besides the MAF sensor. The readings on it where all over the place and when he would gently touch the outside of the sensor the readings would jump and fall rapidly. I ordered a new MAF sensor along with a new fuel filter, vacuum hoses, pcv valve, also he noticed I had a pretty bad oil leak from the lower oil pan gasket so I also ordered that. Should have everything in and replaced on Monday, hopefully this will solve the problems the cruiser has and I will finally be able to drive it without fear of it dying.

Very unusual for oil pan gasket to leak. I double check that before replacing. I've seen oil coming from front weep hole, look like oil pan. Also valve cover(s) (just re torque) and oil filter seal are just a few more common place that oil will travel from. Oil pan can be re-torqued also. We have very good seal in the 100 series, that rarely fail.

I'd also pull engine cover and both under engine shields. Photograph every angle using good flash light to inspect. After which I clean every drop of oil and grim with degreaser & high pressure washer. Then dive and inspect frequently for reappearance of leak.

Also inspect that MAF closely. I've seen issue with wire housing not connect properly.

What is the voltage at the battery? Use a multimeter and check the voltage when the engine is running. Should be above 13.8 V
I wouldn't say it should be above 13.8 V. It most likely will be when first started when the engine is cold but after warming up it could very well run below 13.8. Mine starts out at 14.1 and then levels out at 13.6V after a while when the battery recovers from the cold start and depending on the condition of your alternator it could run even lower as a norm.

Hello, I have installed the new MAF sensor but haven't been able to tell if it has fixed the problem yet or not. I let the cruiser idle in the driveway until warm and it didn't stall out or start to die but I didn't actually drive it anywhere. One thing i did notice is that when the engine is warmed up and in park there is a slight high pitch whine noise. When I would turn the lights on the noise would get louder, but when I took the cruiser out of park and into drive the noise went away almost completely. The noise is coming from the passenger side of the engine and sounds like towards the bottom front of the engine. Also I looked the best I could to find the oil leak and it also looked like a lot of oil was leaking from the same location. Tomorrow I might be able to take some pictures to give a better idea of where I'm talking about. Sorry about all of the questions and problems, really got a good deal on this cruiser and I'm starting to see why.

Sounds like the alternator is crapping the bed.

You can get a stethoscope - I got mine at harbor freight, like $5. It will help pin point the origin of the noise. The whine might be power steering. Flushing the power steering fluid with Mobil 1 synthetic may quiet the whine.

Yes post pictures, there are lots of folks here who can help you.

Hello everybody, I pretty much fixed the stalling at idle and stops problem. I'm not sure what exactly was causing it but after replacing all vacuum hoses, pcv valve, oxygen sensors, MAF sensor, and cleaning the thottlebody spotless it seemed to stop the stalling to stop. Thank you everyone for helping me solve this problem.

Glad you got it figured out. I'm sure maf and/or throttle body were your problem.

As far as the whine sound, could be alternator but I'd bet it's the power steering pump. Suck the old fluid out of the reservoir and replace with good synthetic ATF like Mobil 1 or Valvoline Maxlife. Drive around for a little bit to cycle the fluid and replace the fluid again. It should noticably quiet down the pump and rack if the fluid hasn't been changed in a while... or ever.

The P0135 is a bank ...

The other codes all correspond with low voltage from the low rpm/almost stall.

I appreciate that comment you made, saved me some time, just cleared out the codes and that should fix the problem. The alternator died last week and I just replaced it, explains why it tripped all these codes.
