i recently installed a 2 inch fox front suspension lift and stripped the threads on the lower ball joints on both sides of the vehicle (i know, i know. I'm a dummy)

my question is how hard is the install of just the ball joints only? should i just save time and take both tie rods with replacement ball joints to the mechanic to install? do they need to be pressed in ?

note: my local toyota dealer quoted my at 100$ per ball joint. thats not too bad

thanks in advance

You can buy ball joint tool kits from Amazon for $100 or less. Pretty easy to use, and then you have the tool.

Thanks. I will try renting a c clamp press tool from autozone to replace the ball joints. But honestly I'm kinda over it and I just might call a mechanic to finish it. Lol

Thanks again for the responses

Sorry to hear of your woes... we've all been there before :D

Putting OE ball-joints back in?
