ohhhh....I have many EFI fuse blowing stories I could've shared...

I had the exact same problem with my 94. Right after I had my O2 sensors replaced, I had EFI fuses blowing...tracked it down to that same wire.

On my 97, I had a more inconvenient experience (just off the trail in Death Valley) with my EFI fuse blowing (the saga has been detailed in this forum). It turned out to be a frayed wire on my fuel pump bracket -- the one that sits in the gas tank.

From my experience...EFI fuse blowing means a chaffed wire somewhere...that's usually the first place I look.

I've gotten into the habit of carrying LOTS of fuses.

Someone post a pic of this O2 sensor wire please. I want to check it on both of my '96s.

Thanks!

it's easy enough to find the wires, start at the O2 sensors (just after the cats) and follow the wires back up toward the engine...

The offending harness was rerouted and better secured on later models. The 93-94 are the ones with the issue and it's really no big deal. You just need to inspect the harness occassionally and make sure it's still secured out of harm's way and that there are no frayed wires.

Just basic inspection and preventative maintenance on any heavily used/abused 10+ year old rig.

Morgan's web page was one of the first to document the issue and the repair.

Hi - reviving an old thread, but with an update and a twist.
I Just had the O2 changed. Legit parts from CDan, and honest mechanic (hopefully). After 20 miles, I'm now having an ECL 25 again. What's the next step I should consider, IYO?

You have two O2 sensors. Did you replace both?

Thanks B. I bought two, gave two to the mechanic and I assume he changed both. Moreover, I removed the EFI fuse for some time to make sure the ECL wasn't a remnant of the past.;) Save that, the rig is working good and I didn't notice anything wrong with the gas mileage. What should I look for?
