Installing a PSC steering gear - PN 621 MR, which has what looks to be a 3/4" x 30 spline input versus the existing 622 MR which I currently have - which has the larger 13/16" (.812) x 36 spline input. I'm using a 1" flaming river shaft and can't find a new u-joint that matches a 1" DD shaft up to a 3/4" x 30 spline input on the steering box???

Really need help here - anyone have any leads on steering joints that are as good or better than Flaming River and matches my application? Gonna go try and find a Borgenson site....

Really don't want to swap to a 3/4" DD shaft - as I tack welded the upper u-joint to the cut off column.

Howdy! Your on the right track already. Borgeson has a huge variety of combonations, and I think they do custom also. Got mine there. John

Found the Borgenson Part No. Steel is 015231 and Stainless is 115231. Now just to find someone who can overnight it...

I have a 3/4"-30 spline x 3/4" DD joint if you change shafts that I will give you a deal on. Bought it and mocked everything up and then bough a new box that required the 13/16"-36 spline joint. This is the joint I have:Borgeson 014931 - Borgeson Steering U-Joints-Overview – SummitRacing.com

Don't really want to change out shafts - even thought I figured that it would be an option.

I will have a used 1" DD x 13/16" (812) 36 spline u-joint for sale - Flaming River - bearings still feel tight - bought new about 7 years ago :D

Sounds like what I need for my Scout box I'm getting ready to install. I'm going to go do some counting.

Don

edit: spline count appears to be 36 (have to do some guesstimating because the flat section interupts the splines) and my calipers measure it out to .808, close enough to .812 (13/13ths). Probably clamped the calipers down between the splines to get the .004 thou shy. Seriously interested.

I just ordered a new 1" DD x 3/4" 30 spline from Flaming River first thing this morning. Tech line helped me track down the correct PN. Also found it on the Borgenson site - either would have worked. Paid $77 (not counting the $21 to ship 2 day).

I think I just panicked last night when I couldn't find it - being in a rush to get this thing back togehter for a run weekend after next.

As far as selling the existing one - how about $25 plus ride. Might be able to take a few pics first - don't want to send something you wouldn't be happy with - but I might be slow on getting the pic posted.

Sounds good to me. Pics would be great. Time is what I have lots of right now so no worries. One more piece to the puzzle, last big piece will be what do I do for a drag link (right term?). Something will pop up somewhere.

Thanks Don
