Just bought a 1978 LC, really thrilled with it's condition and am trying to assess things. It clearly has new springs. Can anyone tell me whether they are "stock" replacements or an aftermarket brand? Does anyone recognize these part numbers?

The springs are marked "80-003028" and "31252-1".

Thanks in advance.

Can you post a picture or say what color they are?

Draken - Thanks for the response. I will take photos and post later but they are painted in "gloss" black with the part number in white paint lettering.

Sorry for the delay. Attached are photos. The tires are 30x9.5x15. Thanks again for the help.

Sure do look like my procomp 2.5" lift springs, they had numbers stenciled like that, red bushings, and the half wrapped ends like that. If you google procomp exp - 31253 (the bar code number) you will find a procomp spring on Summit racings site.

Blueflame - Much Appreciated. Exactly the help I needed. Like to comment on them? Ride Quality?

Thanks again,

Dave

i had those pro comp 2.5 lift springs, the one you have... i really can't comment to much ride quality they had, I was running them SOA

I have had them on for a year, no hard top, so they are stiff, but they are finally loosening up, if I have a few hundred pounds in the back (kids or camping gear) it rides great. So if you have a hard top they will most likely be fine, without it took about a year to free up and ride smoother (and smoother is a realitive term, rides like a truck not a lexus).
