I have a 2011 LX570 and am having hard time getting the wood trim and center section out around the gear shifter. I removed the side leather panels and the ashtray section but can't easily pop out that center part. I'm trying to get the wood out to polish it and need to check if something is restricting the little door that covers the USB and acc power.

I could not find links anywhere which is surprising but perhaps I am not searching the right terms.
thanks in advance!!

can u take pic of it ??? and show it??

Here are two pics from the side. Just need to remove that center trim section if possible. Want to be able to get underneath the little usb and power compartment.

MSCruiser = THE MAN !!!

You just bought this and it has a CPO warranty. Put it back together and take it to the dealer and it will be covered under your CPO warranty.

I like messing around with things and was polishing up the center wood just because I am anal. I had NO IDEA it was that involved. I thought maybe some fuzz or a penny could be under the USB door as it looked like it might open a tad bit further. If it was simple I was going to check it out but thanks to this AWESOME post I find out otherwise. I will have the dealer look into next time but I suspect that's just how it is.

Thanks for sharing that link. I will save that for sure! Really appreciate you sharing and look forward to participating in the forums.

@scb71 do you have some insight on this? Mine is doing the same thing but the link above no longer works!
Gray center section just pops right out. There's a little clip for the wires leading to the shifter/usb/ahc controls underneath the cup holder that keeps things tight. Unclipping that gives you enough slack to be able to remove it.
Remove the cup holder, it just lifts out. May need a little pressure. You'll be able to see the little clip on the front right if I remember correctly.
It's easiest to remove the gray center area by popping out the back ahc control area slightly and then popping up the front. Remove the shift knob and you'll have some room to start unclipping the wires connected to the gray center area. After everything's disconnected you can just lift it out.

I am grateful, thank you.
