I was driving my truck home last night from work my power steering stopped and my battery light came on. I knew it was the belt and pulled over. That is when I smelled coolant. I opened the hood and the fan bracket had come apart and put the fan into the radiator. I have all the parts and have looked up on line how to do it but it looks like the whole front of the engine comes off just to get this bracket. Has anyone just replaced this bracket? I just did a timing belt 20k ago and don't need to go that deep. Do I have to take the front of the engine off just to get this bracket off?

I had same thing happen to me in Bucees parking lot. But that was on me due to using the closest cheap part I could find at the moment. Make sure to replace with Aisin brand bracket.

Mine did the same when the fan clutch bearing failed. Basically had to take it down to the point of swapping the timing belt again to replace it.

Just completed this repair this afternoon. I believe it was the original bracket and failed at 300k. Getting to the bracket isn’t hard in the front. The bolts above and below the compressor are another story… once you find the angle that works, it’s easy money.

I noticed the fan wobble and parked the truck until I could Swap it out. I swapped the serpentine belt tensioner as well while I was in there.
