Hi.
Need to replace the lip seal on the brake booster pump.
The seal are 8x22x7mm, but I have not been able to find out what kind of rubber it is made of. I have been able to locate seals in both NBR and Viton, but neither of these rubbers go well with brake fluid.
Does enyone know?

Update: Just been in contact with one of the leading supplier of rubber seals for the marine and offshore industry. They said that they can find deliver seals for any kind of chemical, exept glykol-based brakd fluid.....
Btw, the seal fitted originaly is marked NOK AHO1551 or 1581, hard to say.
I have been googeling for weeks to try to find it....

Can you identify which seal you are looking for on this diagram?

That would be a Bosch part

This seal leaks, if air vent hole clogged. The pump, as it spines, creates vacuum. If pump not vented, pump then sucks fluid from seal. This seal, is not a pressure seal. If in okay condition, reusing may be best option.

Do you mean the vent in the void between the pumphousing and el-motor, because that was definately clogged. The previous ovner was a 'mechanic' and the vent was clogged with silicone. He have also used silicone to seal the el-motor casing, resulting in moisture inside the el-motor. You won't belive the crap-ass work he has done to it.
The pump builds up pressure, and I cant see any leak. Just want to replace it now as the system is already open.
But that makes me think that a NBR or Viton seal might be good enough after all.
I did source a teflon coated seal made for som nasty stuff off-shore, but at U$D90 a piece its kind off out of the question.

Thanks for your post.

Yes! Air vent to motor, must be open.

There's also a channels, that drops down from seal. This must also be open/clear of obstruction. It's a weep hole, for small amount brake fluid that may pass the pumps seal.

Brake fluid getting into motor, is second to brake control wire increased resistance (corrosion). Resulting in sudden brake failure (dead booster motor)

Someone, sealing brake booster motor. Didn't understand function of air holes.
