Added the grab bar today and now the AC don't work! I pulled the trim around the controls to get to the back end of the left side of the grab handle. Could it be that I messed with some kind of wire? The AC button lights up but no acceleration or cold air! With this heat wave? FORGET IT!!!!!! Guys please help...

Oh and one more ? what is the plug for?(blue arrow) And light? (yellow arrow.)

In your second picture, right under the 4WD label, on the AC housing there is a bumpout. There is a connector at the top of the bumpout. That bump is your AC amplifier. Make sure the connector is in and that you did not tweak it getting the handle installed.

The light probably goes in that top hole to light your display. Don't know as I'm a 62 guy. Same on the connector.

I think it's the instrument light for the cigarette lighter. your cigarette lighter lookes a little funky. All the crimp connections suggest someone has made changes to the OEM wiring. The bottom picture in this post shows the OEM cigarette lighter with the light bulb integral to the lighter (there are four wires going to the cigarette lighter. The plug is for the power antenna option.

x2 on checking the connections at the AC amplifier. If the light lights up and the blower motor works, it's probably not the fuse or circuit breaker. The amplifier engages up the idle up and controls the compressor clutch.

what does the other end of the wireing look like? over were the antenna motor would go? That means after messing with the mechanical side of things I could start adding these things....

Can I reach the AC wireing without pulling the trim out? Anyone got a diagram of it.... ? If not I will just have to pull it out tomorrow.

Why on earth did you rip all that stuff out for an oh sh*t bar install? I just removed the glovebox and houdini'd my hads a bit. are the US market ones much harder to install than the non-usa ones?

I have pretty small hands and I needed to pull the same 'stuff' to get mine installed. Yours is much sexier, but the one from the US FJ62 works just fine.

for me there was no way to get my fingers into the area to the left of the glove compartment. There was some sort of structural steel there. I think we are getting off track though...

The other end of the connector is a two wire connector. It comes off the wiring harness on the passenger side of the engine compartment near the washer reservoir that is over there. The motor is integral to the base of the antenna and fits inside the fender. You access it by removing the washer reservoir, and behind is an access hole in the inner fender.

The power antenna from an FJ62 does work, but you will need the antenna switch from an FJ60 if you want it to fit into the cut out in the dash. These parts are still available from Toyota.

OK! checked the AC amplifier thingy and it makes a clicking noise when the ac button is pressed. Checked the valve that connects the accuator to the vacume hose and it looks like that is what is not working.... If I eliminate the valve and join the 2 hoses, the engine accelerates just fine.... But the compressor still does not come on.

You may have to do some more detailed troubleshooting.

1. did you turn the knob on the ac amplifier per the instruction in the link above to see if you can get the clutch to engage?
2. IF you supply 12V to the vacuum valve, does it switch? If so, then the valve may be OK, and it's just not getting the signal
3. When the clutch is supposed to be engaged, have you checked to see if you have 12V supplied to the clutch?
4. There is a low pressure switch that may prevent the clutch from engaging. If you bypass that switch, does the clutch engage?

pressure switch?????? where???? I can see the schematic... know the general area where the pressure switch is?

I will try to get a tester thingy to see if the valve is even getting any juice.
