So I'm putting a Chevy 350 in my fj62 I have a h42, but I can't figure out which adapter to get. I looked on advanced adapters and there is 2, but only one comes with a different input shaft for the trans to change it to a Chevy 10 spline, but the pictures for it don't look like the bell housing would bolt to the trans. I can not figure out which one to buy or if there is a 11"clutch I can get that will work with the stock h42 input shaft

Phone AA on Monday. They got tech guys that can sort that question out pretty fast.

Chevy low diaphragm clutches work with Toyota transmission input shafts.

I've been running a Toyota 4 speed with the same LUK Chevy clutch for 21 years. I had a look at it and there were many areas on the flywheel that still had machining marks. My 40 Build... 20 years and Counting... Purists beware, this may hurt:D

Marks adaptors avoid the need to modify driveshafts... at a much higher cost.

It's just a standard 11" low diaphragm clutch.

Also consider a NV4500 5-speed and adaptor to T-Case or matching T-Case and swap to a centered diff rear axle.

I can get a 5 speed, but it's still a 21 spline input shaft on both transmissions, they are from a BJ, if I could find a trans from a FJ then I wouldnt have to worry as it's a 10 spline like a Chevy but I don't know where or if anyone has any

And I don't really wanna go through all that work to change the rear diff, as it has 4.11 gears and is in decent shape

Diesel input shafts are too long. You'll need to round up a shorter shaft... or different transmission.

You found the first place... VI Buy/Sell/Trade
I'd also check out Usedvictoria, Craigslist, etc.
Radd Cruisers - John will likely have leads (Island)
EBI Cruisers - Steve will have one (Vancouver)
Mark's Off Road - certain to have one (USA)

All else fails, fire me a PM and I'll see what I can do... why not stay with a Diesel? You could likely fix yours or swap in annother for a lot less than the $2500 a SBC swap will likely cost.

Okay thanks, mine isn't a diesel, it's a 2F auto, the engine is s*** and I think the auto rear seal is done, it's draining all the fluid into the t-case

Are you still sourcing parts? I've got a rebuildable 350 that I've not decided what to do with... or +/- $1800 will get you a crate motor from GM.

In a 62 I'd also consider a 700r4 automatic... bad knee in my case.

I’ve already got an engine, might be getting a trans this weekend, just need the adapter and mounts
