Tom who?

That shackle looks pretty straight upright, is that the end that hes making the springs shorter for? If anything id want them longer with that much arch, assuming it wont sag down an inch or so.

No, those are the front shackles. He's making the springs shorter for the back.

Ok a few things, I do not need a 4 inlift I would only want to go with a 2in lift at the max, any word on the 2in set up? Also this would be for my fj60, so are there many differences with th 62? Also with a 2in lift, would the t-case/crossmember drop be needed? In all the threads that I have read on 60/62 lifts/springs I have never heard of a t-case/crossmember drop, is that just something to be done on 62's or anything over 4in on either 60 or 62's?

Thanks,
Zack

The cross member mod. was initially for the 60s with a 4" lift, some models had cross member / front drive line interference issues...the idea wasn't to lower the transfer assembly, but to lower the cross member, to gain needed clearance.... If you do a search, you'll find some pics where I install the 2" lift...

Nice looking rig (and rust-free, must be nice...) Good articulation.

Do the shackles come with that kit, or will we need to source them separately? This looks like a great alternative to the OME/HFS/etc lift kits.

Oh yeah, i'll want the 4 inch lift (better to scare the civilians with!)

Thanks for that input. That's what I've been needing to say.

The shackles do not come with the kit. And thanks for the compliment. I really like this rig and the things I can do with it.

So then with only 2in of lift no crossmember mod is needed?

Zack

The 62s are fun - I really like mine, even if it's a bit on the "rough" side. But of course I'll never confuse mine with anything other than a beast (a rusty one at that!) and that's the beauty of it.

hello
i believe this is my virgin post! I have been sneaking around and reading post on this forum for along time and finally a couple of months ago got my first bj60 1984, it needs some work therefore still in my garage, about that later.

anyway

this lift would fit a bj60 right?
what would be the benefit of a 4" lift versus a Spring over axle swap?
not looking at the fact that your changing your old sagy springs

in my opinion a lift kit is just a bolt on procedure vs fab work for the SOA
but handling, highway usability etc would interest me the most
thanks
Matthew

mrmati, search the 60 series, this has been covered numerous times. The search is your friend!

Cajun - any updates on the status of this? I've just gone through a significant update of my 62 and I'm itching to put a lift on it...

Just got back in the country, any updates on sale of these?
