Hey all - just picked up a 2017 Land Cruiser after my 2013 was totaled in an accident (saved our lives).

It's in pristine shape however I noticed the steering feels much heavier when turning to the left vs right. We all know the steering on these tanks are heavy but this stood out. It's as if when turning left, the vehicle is pulling the steering back to the original position much tighter than going in the opposite direction. There are no sounds nor does the car pull in one direction upon acceleration or braking - in a way, the heaviness keeps is straight even better on high speeds.

However the difference when steering left vs right is substantial enough to make me want to dig deeper into this.

Hopefully I'm making sense but would love to hear your takes on what to look for - the tires were just balanced and the seller said the car sat for a bit when putting brand new BFG All Terrains so they may need some "breaking in".

What could be causing this?

Looking forward to hearing from you all!

I would start with a front end alignment. Even if it doesn’t pull L/R going down the road, alignment being off could affect steering. My ‘17 has no noticeable difference in L/R steering.
